Abu Dhabi vision 2030 is a set of policies and strategy agendas put together in 2006 by the authorities of Abu Dhabi’s government to initiate a secure and confident society with a sustainable economy. The United Arab Emirates relay mainly on oil to support their economy which the vision hopes to change by diverting their dependence on oil to transform the city of Abu Dhabi into a sustainable world-class city. The vision’s aim is partially social and partially economic in different means from creating a well-thought-of city to live in and do business to respecting the environment while considering the future’s standards.
The 2030 vision provides a set of directions where certain enterprises in Abu Dhabi have developed their individual strategies that focuses on achieving their set of goals. There are many approaches to achieving the main aim of the vision, however, the most significant ones are the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 (introduced by the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development) and the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Vision 2030 (introduced by Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council).
Both set of visions started being carried out in 2008 in a more detailed way to achieve the intended goal of these strategies. However, the global economic slowdown that followed in 2008 was a major setback of the Vision as the prices of oil dropped and so some of the proposed ideas in the vision were cut out and the vision was adjusted.

Economic Diversification
The country’s economic diversification is based on the expenses spent by the government on different areas than oil such as media. One example is the Twofour54 Corporation which is created for the sake of enabling the development of world class Arabic media. The development in health care is also part of the five years plan and the advances in petrochemicals is being looked at as well. The country’s strategy to develop in other areas like aviation and financial services have been receiving a notable attention since these areas will undoubtedly boost the economic status of the country. The addition of renewable energy projects to the country’s economy is a major upsurge hence it will improve the image of the country globally.
