Money can buy a bunch of things but it cannot buy everything in life we need to survive. “Money is not everything: It can buy you a house but not a home. It can buy you a clock but not time. It can buy you a position but not respect. It can buy you a bed but not sleep. It can buy you a book but not knowledge. It can buy you medicine but not health. It can buy you blood but not life. If someone handed other person $500, yes he or she would be excited and happy to have that kind of money in his or her possession but, he or she cannot just go to Walmart, go down the ails, pick up a jar of happiness and purchase it. If someone bought, another person a gift they have been dying for he or she would be happy not only because someone bought it for them but that someone exactly spent the time picking it out and thought of them when they saw it. Many people desire multiple things in life that cost money so people think if they were rich, they would be able to buy the things they crave to encounter happiness in their life. True happiness is not measured by the money in someone’s bank account or the things they own but by the generosity in their soul and caring of one other. Happiness has nothing to do with money but how we live our lives. In Barrett Strong’s song “Money That’s What I Want”, he sings the lyrics “The best things in life are free. But you can give 'em to the birds and bees.”, “Your lovin ' gives me such a thrill. But your lovin ' won 't pay my bills.”, and “Money don 't get everything, it 's true. What it don 't get, I can 't use.” Which Strong is right love will not pay your bills but money will not give you the same thrill as someone’s love will. Poor people have realized that money cannot buy their happiness; it is about how they look at the world and hope for the best. Poor family understand that money is not the center of the household that they could live off each love and companionship if they really needed to. If a homeless man has a family, he is not as worried about money as he is for his family. Homeless people would probably love to have companionship, food, water, shelter, and clothing over money any other day.
