Being a scholar is a challenge that I take on everyday. The most challenging classes I took this year will have to be AP English Language and Algebra II Honors. AP English Language is my first AP class I have taken and it was really challenging. The most challenging part about being in AP English Language was the level of expectation on your work. English has always been my hardest subject and taking this course was a big step. My essay grades were very low so I had to work extra hard in all my other work to keep my grade up. Also, I was really scared about the AP exam but Ms.Pruden really prepared us for it, I went in and used everything she taught me to try and pass the exam. Algebra II Honors will have to be the most challenging class this
Many high schools believe that their hardest year will be their senior year. Sometimes this is not true, in fact some believe that their hardest year will be their junior year since that is the year of the major tests such as the American College Test. Anyway, those that do believe that the senior year of high school is the hardest, say that their hardest class that they attend is their language arts class, also known as English. The four year of English is thought to be really hard, and that is somewhat true for the seniors of Worland High. At Worland High School, we have Doctor Tim McGee as our senior English teacher. Many in Worland believe that the hardest class to pass is the senior English and this has very little truth to it, but it is not one of the easiest of classes at the high school level. There are three major reason for the class being a difficult class and that is the work of the class, the scoring system, and the subject.
I had a Political science professor that once said “Political survey answers depend more on how a question is asked than on what the question is asking.” I read and reread the above question. I have to admit that even after 15 weeks of topic discussions, PowerPoint, text chapters and Google; I am still confused about how tax expenditure works. The nearest I can figure out and in plain English, it is simply a tax break. That being said, this question is very methodically asked. The term “anti-poverty programs” is a gentle, non threatening term that will be met with compassion and kindness among more than 85% of (surveyed) US citizens. Second “tax expenditures” is a confusing term associated with the mean IRS that must have something to do with the government taking hard earned money and doing something with it, but what? Who knows? The final term is the big, bad anti-conservative term that only about 11% of surveyed Americans actually greet with any positivity. So the question in our subconscious mind flows something like: “What are the advantages and disadvantages of helping people who need it with your tax money instead of giving it to people who don’t want to work?” But that’s not what the question is asking. Because I know that my subconscious takes into consideration, the information it believes is true. First anti-poverty programs, such as Medicaid, are in most people’s minds still welfare. Before the New Deal many of the anti-poverty programs, as well as welfare (utility assistance, help purchasing groceries, etc.) were funded completely through private charities....
Students should communicate with their counselors to select a manageable course load based on their own aptitude and interests. Certain combinations of the most difficult AP classes may be difficult to handle for all but the most brilliant students. However by making smart informed decisions, students can challenge themselves by taking appropriate AP classes.
The chosen signature assessment, Tutoring Project, is an assignment from EDMU 520, Literacy and Language in K-8 Classrooms I. This signature assessment expresses the Program Learning Outcome (PLO) number 2, PLO number 3, and PLO number 4. PLO number 2 is Culture, which is describing differences in the cultures of individuals served. PLO number 3 is Instruction, which is being able to implement evidence based and multifaceted methodologies and strategies for teaching and engaging students with exceptionalities. PLO number 4 is Assessment, this is how to utilize achievement tests to assess students in a comprehensive manner.
During my first semester of college, I felt like this course overshadowed all the others. I faced many challenges, gained better habits, and even increased the value of myself as a scholar. Not only did my professor provide her students with the course material she built a confidence inside of us that will allow us to be able to tackle any task, especially pertaining to any written compositions. The things that I have learned from this course could and will be applied to any and everything I do from here on out, whether that writing an essay or even taking a test. Again, the journey was long, but I will be forever grateful for the things that I, and all of my peers have gained from this
challenging, but tolerable because of my teachers whom were willing to help. I always enjoyed class trips
I did not find it challenging per se; however, I noticed that I read textbooks and articles not to merely obtain knowledge. I kept in mind the question --how each reading relates to the learning outcomes and other units in the course—as I read. It was a slightly different way of reading the materials compares to other classes. The question stems from my wish for this course to flow well in addition to covering all the significant topics.
Nowadays, colleges and universities have been using the SAT to select their students who apply to them. According to College Board, the SAT is a test that measures students' abilities which they will use to be able to do well in universities or colleges. In addition, the SAT shows how well the students solve the problems and how well the education they have gotten. The SAT consists of ten sections which consist of one 25-minute essay section, two 25-minute and one 20-minute math problem sections, four 25-minute, one 20-minute, and one 10-minute English problem sections. Therefore, the total time to do all the sections is three hours and forty-five minutes ("SAT Reasoning Test").
The most important hurdle to overcome in the course was mainly myself and my old writing habits. Adjusting to the course is a goal that one needs to overcome post-haste, the more time it takes one to adjust, the worse your grade will be. A critical aspect of adjusting is the ability to change the writing requirements based on what class one is in. By figuring out the appropriate text to use in each class, it would help one adjust to the course faster. In my history class, writing is mainly facts piled on other facts with no set of techniques, while writing class involves a lot more critical thinking. I extremely enjoyed this course because I found that I can express my own personal views while maintaining the foundation of my papers.
Now that it's at the end of the course. I would have to say I enjoyed the challenge of this course. I do realize this course should not have been as challenging as it was, but due to my severe struggle when it comes to writing it was very difficult at times for me. However at the end of the day this course has made me a better writer and reader. I learned many valuable lessons and adopted many tools I can take with me into my latter years of my studies. I do now believe that because of this course I have a better ability of analyzing text for tests and papers, which will make me well-rounded and better student.
Children can enhance their understanding of difficult addition and subtraction problems, when they learn to recognize how the combination of two or more numbers demonstrate a total (Fuson, Clements, & Beckmann, 2011). As students advance from Kindergarten through second grade they learn various strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems. The methods can be summarize into three distinctive categories called count all, count on, and recompose (Fuson, Clements, & Beckmann, 2011). The strategies vary faintly in simplicity and application. I will demonstrate how students can apply the count all, count on, and recompose strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems involving many levels of difficulty.
Without a doubt my favorite class this semester was AP Psychology. As someone who has been mesmerized by the brain, its functions, and human behavior, this class kept me constantly engaged and interested. Walking into class, I knew that every day I would learn something new. This class allowed me to gain a better understanding of people around me, and taught me patience when dealing with numerous different types of people. Also, this class has provided me with a basic understanding of why people do different things, and allowed me to grow and become more open to new things. I went into the class with lots of questions, and have found each of them answered in more depth than I thought about them originally. Prior to taking psychology, I knew
Electricity and electrical components are a major part of our lives today. Our lives pretty much come to a halt if there is a power outage or if our electrical devices stop working, sometimes we even start panicking because we are so dependent on these components that we cannot afford to lose them and their importance and use only increases as time passes. We all use these electrical devices and also electricity itself but most of us do not think about the math and physics that works behind all of these things.
I went into this expecting the academics to be very difficult and my expectations were met and then some. I find the work in nearly all of my classes very challenging and I find myself spending far too many hours on assignments that should take very little time. The only class that I find the work to be easy is my computer class because that coursework is made up of things
