Dragsters use a combination of large wide tyres or the rear and small narrow tyres on the front this combination is used for the following reasons:
The front wheels:
The front wheels are very narrow. This is so a minimum of air resistance or drag affects the dragster with lower drag better acceleration an in turn a better top speed can be achieved all leading to a better pass (race time).
Now lets try to understand the concept of air resistance and drag. A basic example is placing your hand out the window with your palm facing forwards as you are driving your car along at about sixty kilometres per hour. You will feel a strong force of the wind (air resistance) pushing back at your hand. Now turn your hand side or so that your little finger is facing the front and your thumb is facing the rear at the same speed. The force of air resistance exerted on your hand is greatly reduced. This force is similar as to that exerted on the front wheels of the dragster.
Now dragsters reach speeds of up to five hundred kilometres per hour, imagine the force needed to hold your hand against the wind if your palm was facing the front. It would be much easier to hold your hand side on. The same as it would be much easier for the dragsters engine to push the narrow front wheels compared to large ones.
Air resistance is a form of friction (namely fluid friction) a friction from the air, as we know friction is defined as a force that opposes movement.
The formula used to determine aerodynamic drag is as follows:
Drag = 0.5 * rho * Cd * v2 * S
Aerodynamic drag is a function of the following: rho is the air density, which we cannot change. v2 is velocity squared which is endeavoured to be maximized for the best time and/or pass.
S is the frontal or cross sectional area which we want to minimize. I.e. less frontal area means that a less significant amount of air resistance impedes the top speed and acceleration.
Cd is the coefficient of drag, which we want to minimize.
So the two things with which can be worked with or changed, the frontal area and coefficient of drag, both of which need to be to minimized for the best results.
Having very narrow front wheels minimizes the frontal area.
Take a look at your car, it probably can only hit eighty on a good day. Then watch the top fuel and funny car dragsters of the National Hot Rod Association who get three hundred miles per hour on a bad day. You would be blown away at the diffrence in power. The pure power and the amount of noise that these cars produce will blow you away. I'm going to inform you on a lot of the amazing facts about the nitro powered dragsters of the NHRA. First, i'm going to inform you on how drag racing started and on how drag racing works, then how the dragsters work. Following that i'm going to explain how the equipment keeps the drivers and workers safe, finally I will explain how the sport is evolving,
...time with the stride to avoid a larger drag. Minimal faults occur when I lose coordination with the arms and legs causing the feet to drop creating more drag, overall my technique in most cases proves effective and efficient.
For a Racing car, the design fetures are pretty much different from normal, civilian cars. Civilian cars and family saloons dont have much to prove on the speed factor. But racing cars have a lot to show themselves upto in the speed front. There are a lotta different chunks of the total package that are to be designed with precision engineering and innovation.
Drag is caused by the disrupted air immediately behind an object moving through fluid/air. It acts perpendicular to and in the opposite direction of travel of the object and impedes the motion of the object. It would make sense that if the drag is minimized, the object will travel farther. Lift or curve in the motion of an object through air is a phenomenon that is noticeable in a ball traveling through fluid/air. This change in direction is due to the effect that spin has on the object in motion.
Over the next 10 years the criminal Justice system could entirely change with the passing of a major law, epidemic, or failed service. Consequently, every since 9-11 our justice system has become much more open minded. Therefore, resulting in the strict enforcement of laws to protect its citizens. Nothing ever stays the same for too long. New developments related to science, technology, DNA analysis, and countless other tools and other factors are changing for the better in solving cases, prevention of crimes, and aiding in investigations. Where there is change there will be changes in the way we handle everyday processing. For example, booking a criminal, acquiring evidence, and interrogation. This also results in the field of criminal justice having no choice but to adapt to the slowly changing times or else be left behind.
As I states above earlier, the right criminal behind bars is important to me. There have been too many innocent individuals put in prison for life, for a variety of reasons. Technology now days makes it much more difficult for an innocent to be convicted, but it can still happen. One of the cases that has affected my career choice is of a Juan
Friction: The second most important fact you'll face. Because the dragster has parts moving against one another, friction is created. You can help reduce it by making sure the axles are free to rotate, and that the wheels and tires are not rubbing on the car body.
As the air flows over the wing producing lift, it grabs onto the wings surface and causes drag. Drag can be measured by the equation D=Cd 1/2 (pV2)S, much like the lift equation. The drag coeficent Cd is found, again, by determining ...
...speed and handling, is purely designed for the drag strip (Wikipedia, Ford Motor Company). While Shelby American focused on both types of muscle cars, Chevy’s muscle cars mainly focused on race tracks (Wikipedia, Chevrolet). Dodge and other Mopar’s were focused on the drag strip (Wikipedia, Dodge).
“To say the word Romanticism is to say modern art - that is, intimacy, spirituality, color, aspiration towards the infinite, expressed by every means available to the arts.” – Charles Bauldaire. Romanticism is a type of style of writing in fine arts and literature that focuses on passion imagination and intuition rather than emphasizing on reason and logic. There are no restraints or order in Romanticism; complete spontaneous actions are welcome in this style of writing.
Aerodynamics is a branch of dynamics that studies the movement of air and the way solid objects react when they move through the air. Aerodynamics has contributed to the advancing of airplanes and other vehicle technology. In this essay I will be discussing how aerodynamics have improved and changed our world in several great ways. Overall, without aerodynamics, our world today would not be as developed as it is now.
...both worlds for its purpose, the dragster. The Dragster has extremely wide rear tires for acceleration and to keep it going straight. The dragster has extremely thin tires in the front to reduce rolling resistance and because handling is not a concern the car goes in a straight line it does not need to turn.
Baudelaire had a strong influence on Romanticism. Romanticism is a literary and art movement that occurred during the late 18th century that emphasized imagination, emotion, and love of nature. Baudelaire really liked Romanticism although he found himself “incapable of being moved by vegetation.” During the time he wrote “salon de 1846”, Baudelaire alleged that the ideal was represented by Romanticism. In “Salon de 1846” he wrote, "Romanticism is precisely situated neither in choice of subject nor in exact truth, but in a way of feeling" (Galitz). Baudelaire felt that the beauty in Romanticism was that artists and writers were looking inward to represent things in their own personal way while using nature as an inspiration for that self-exploration. In his book, Baudelaire: Selected Writing on Art and Artist, Baudelaire wrote, "Romanticism lies neither in the subjects an artist chooses nor in his exact copying of truth, but in the way he feels" (Baudelaire 52). Through this states how he views Romanticism and what attracts him to the movement. Throughout his life and for many years to come, Baudelaire had a significant inf...
The move toward a more aggressively styled and higher riding vehicles have caused unintended consequences and risks. The risks include decreased “drivability”, obstruction of vision, and concerns surrounding safety. Current trends in vehicle design focus on addressing these problems to achieve appealing designs with the best qualities of both cars and trucks, as seen in all the new designs from the Land Rover.
Video games that include violence have become recognized by numerous people and have been linked to the violence that occurs in the real world. Some people believe this statement to be true, but others find a lack of evidence to support these accusations. Not only has video games affected our outlook on violence, but also affected the way children behave. Researchers believe that the increase in aggressive behavior in children has to do with the violent games they play. While some researchers have this ideology that is backed up with their research, others believe it does the opposite. Scientists have become aware that if gamers play action games, their cognitive skills improve. With having more than half of the American population playing video games, multiple movies have become based off video games as a way to attract this audience and increase the popularity of movie industries. Thus, society will continue to be influenced by video games because it has become part of our lifestyle and with the advancement in technology, the influence will only become
