Communication is act of delivering information from one place to another. To either do, ask or just to talk to someone about something so it is important to be carful in what we say, act or do. At my placement as a health and social care worker communication is one of the most important task.

Effective communication is important when working with collogues because without it we can`t understand each other’s needs. Part of being able to communicate effectively is to listen well to what others have to say and collaborate with each other. Every one takes a turn to speak while others listen. If we wont have good effective communication this can lead to conflict, frustration and misunderstandings. We have to be carful in our tone and pitch of voice. If I speak fast and in a low pitch no one will hear what I have to say. Verbal communication can take place either using a phone or when talking to some one in person. We use words to talk about feelings, ideas, taught and dreams. When you use the verbal communication you have to be carful how you approach the people that you are addressing. –

Example: At school, during a lecture I communicate with my classmates using verbal communication.

Non-verbal communication is we are sending and receiving wordless messages to each other such as the use of body language, Appearance, hand movement, pictures, signs or symbols. From facial expressions we can tell if a person was surprised, happy or sad. Non-verbal communication is actually a very powerful tool, eye contact is the most important matter when we are communicating with some one and it shows whether you care or not about the information being given to you, if you don’t care what the person is telling you wont even look at his eyes to give feedback. How we sit, walk or stand up is a type of non-verbal communication. -

Example: if I have an interview and I sit down without permission with my legs on the table I am non-verbally telling the employer that I am not really interested in the job or that I take the job
