Against School Dress Code

Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, once said “Create your own style… Let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others.”, Students are not able to do this because of school dress code.School dress code has certain rules about what students may and may not wear. Students who wear clothes under school dress code cannot express themselves or their religion, students may get embarrassed that they are getting dress coded and most dress codes are targeted at girls. Here are some of the reasons why I think they need to loosen up on dress code. Provided here are three reasons why we should have more freedom in our clothing. Firstly, students can’t express themselves or their religion. When having dress code students may not be able to express themselves through the clothing that they have which is in dress code. They may not also be able to express their religion. It is against school dress code the show or have anything that symbolises a religion. Secondly, students may get embarrassed that they are getting dress coded. Being told that what they’re wearing is inappropriate and having to be taken out of class is embarrassed. It’s also embarrassing that you have to call your parents for extra clothes. Lastly, dress code is mostly targeted at girls. Many people say that the school dress code is sexist that it is unfairly targeted at girls by body-shaming them.. The dress code says that it is distracting to see
