The age of the globalisation has gifted mankind of many advancements and enhancements in many aspects or areas. One of the advancements is the technological enhancements in the field of health technologies which is evolving tremendously every minute; but whether this advancements in health technology is in our advantage or disadvantage is entirely a different question. Many disadvantages arises with such advancements as it does with most technologies known to mankind. Our research has yielded some disadvantages of the modern health technology which is illustrated in detail in this report. This increasingly sophisticated health care technology definitely does not come cheap. The increasing population of people in our country certainly proves to be a challenge to the government at this point. The life span of people of the modern age is deteriorating rapidly due to increasing diseases and strong, drug immune viruses or bacteria that is spreading rampantly throughout our great nation. This situation certainly needs the government to invest on more expensive health technologies but the working population which could afford to pay for this expensive equipment has reduced. So, it is not economically viable for a government to invest in this expensive health care machines. For example, an MRI machine costs between RM 750,000 to RM 3 million. A PET scanner on the other hand ranges between 1 Million US Dollars to 2.5 Million US Dollars. A CT scanner costs up to about a staggering 300,000 US Dollars. A wide range of complaints arises among doctors these days that the insurance companies encourages them to discharge patients sooner because health care has become very expensive. The Japanese researchers have been making real strides in the area of artificial intelligence and robotics for past decades. Once again, the development of supercomputers in the modern era have contributed for such strides. Robotic applications have been used in many industries over the ages such as the automobile industry and etc. These robotic applications have been also used in the medical field for surgical purposes. For example, a robotic surgical equipment named “The Da-Vinci” which costs millions of dollars have performed over 400,000 surgeries in US alone just 4 years after its introduction to the industry. This piece of modern equipment have been the choice for surgeries by surgeons around the world because the surgeon can operate while sitting down and without any form of tremors which increases the success rate of surgeries.
