The career that I have always dreamed of having is being an educator, specifically in the subject of history and social studies. I have always tried to imagine what it would be like to have my own classroom filled with students who are eager to learn. Throughout my academic career, I would put myself in my teacher’s shoes. I would picture myself in their position and it always intrigued me. I was intrigued by the notion that every teacher I have had is slightly different. This added to the passion I have for teaching simply because of the fact that there are countless ways to be an effective educator. Truck driving is a much needed career to help transport goods across the United States and other local areas. Commercial Truck Driving is the career I choose to uphold. Trucking is a way of transportation needed to keep business going. Trucking has been a part of my family for years so I fell in love with trucks now I won’t to drive my own. This career has a good background, career requirements, job positions, and a good reflection.
When I get out of high school I want my career to be a farmer. The roots of farming began in the areas of present day turkey in the middle east about 10,000 years ago. There is about 570 million farmers worldwide. More than 90 percent of farms are run by an individual or a family and rely primarily on family labour. Family farms occupy a large share of the world’s agricultural land and produce about 80 percent of the world’s food. I have been working with a farmer for half a year now and I love it. I have seen and learned what I need to know and what I need to have to run a farm. It’s going to be a lot of working and learning to save up money and to learn what I need to know to have and run a farm.
After graduating college it is time to hit the real world, so it’s time to begin of what I want to do for a living. The career I’m striving to achieve is to become an elementary teacher or middle school teacher. Becoming a teacher would be fantastic, it’s a job I know I would enjoy and I’m passionate about. Being able to help young students learn new things every day would be amazing, knowing that in elementary years it is the foundation of a student’s education. Teaching in general and watching people through the process of learning the is the main reason I’m seeking a career as a teacher.

Throughout my highschool career, I had always intended to go into the medical field. The process for a high school student trying to figure out where they want to go to college and what choices they have for careers and their future can be made much easier by simply doing extensive research. I have looked into multiple colleges and a couple careers I believe I would excel in and enjoy to make sure I am making the right decisions about my future. I have done extensive research on the colleges I am considering, including Kaplan University, The Art Institutes and Sinclair Community College. I have also done extensive research on being a photographer and on being a social worker so that I could consider these occupations for my future career.
Throughout my entire life there has always been one thing that has remained constant—there has always been some sort of teacher in my life. During my academic career, there have been teachers that I have liked and a few that I have disliked, but I have always respected them for what they accomplish on a day-to-day basis. It never occurred to me until my second year of college that I could also be a teacher. I have always participated in activities that stressed leadership, I have been a mentor for numerous children through 4-H and other youth programs. In a way I have been teaching my entire life, but I had never realized it until now.
As a kid, I went through many thoughts of careers that I Wanted. I wanted to be a cop because I would be able to help people and protect them. After a while, I lost interest in it, and wanted to be a firefighter. I wanted to be firefighter because they’re around fire and I loved fire at the time. When I looked into it more and more , I lost interest in it too just like being a cop. There were more careers than that I lost interest in, but there is one that I never lost interest in. The one that I didn’t lose interest in was me becoming a zoologist.

The more I learn about the work and career environment more I have come to understand that if I teach, plan, and prepare myself, then I can be ready and more eligible for success. Science branches out to the research of anything ranging from life to the latest technology. It has a vital influence in the development of new things that might improve our everyday life. Some researchers help us learn what not to do with certain elements. A chemist to be specific, does exactly that. According to Emporia State University, a chemist is a scientist who focuses his/her studies toward that involves of chemicals. Becoming a chemist isn’t easy, but it is a career that contributes to society.
Becoming a teacher was not something I always knew I wanted. As I approached an age where I really started considering what I would like to do for a career I only knew that I did not want to work in an office behind a desk all day. I wanted a job that would be interactive, challenging and exciting. I also knew I wanted a job that would be important and would somehow contribute to the world in an important way. I thought being a teacher; particularly a teacher in the primary levels would fulfill those hopes and goals assuming I dedicate myself to becoming an effective teacher who has a positive influence on the lives of my students.
Some people know what they want to do all their lives, others work an entire life before they realize what it is they enjoy doing and some know what they would enjoy doing, but are too stubborn to admit it. I admire those people who have always known what they want to do and stood by it. I was one of those people who knew in a way what I wanted, but was not real confident if it was the job for me. I have always loved school and the learning process. I would play school with my sisters and I was the teacher. What I have really always liked to do is help people in any way that I could. I always thought to improve life and society I had to be in the health care profession. Now, I know that is not always true. I feel teaching is an awesome way to improve society and to help people succeed in life. Teaching is the career I have chosen to fulfill my dreams of helping people live better lives. I have taught at vacation bible school and enjoyed every minute. I taught children of all ages mixed together and the challenge was rewarding. My husband and family support the career choice I have made. When we started learning about the philosophies of education, I did not agree with just one philosophy so I took the philosophies that are important to me and showed how I will use them to expand learning in my classroom. I am a believer in the mixing of the philosophies of progressivism, behaviorism, essentialism, and social reconstructivism.
To begin out of the countless professions one has to chose from in the world today I have chosen to become a teacher. I have chosen to become a teacher because I myself am a product of some whom I consider to be the best teachers in the world. As a child in North Carolina I was inspired by a wonderful woman named Mrs. Hollyfield. Mrs. Hollyfield taught me that no star was too far out of reach, if I put my mind to accomplishing my goal I could make it. Mrs. Hollyfield inspired me to be the best I could be at anything I wanted to be. As I have grown I have had other important teachers, some whom I am surrounded by daily whom inspire me to set out to accomplish my dreams. These wonderful inspiring people in my life have led me to the decision of becoming a teacher.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to be a teacher. I personally remember the times when I used to insist on playing school with my younger sister, and I used to love to pretend to be a teacher and make activities for her to do. I even had my own grade book and my own easel where I was able to express my creativity. My dream ever since I was a little girl was to become a teacher, and I think it is amazing that what used to be a pastime and a fun activity for me suddenly became something that I want to pursue in the future. I have always admired and appreciated teachers, and I still do. All college students should partake in career exploration project because it gives structure and direction. The result from an assessment identifies and prioritizes which careers will best suit an individual person or student. It does not necessarily mean they have to pick that particular job or career; it gives them more chooses to choose from. Career exploration is a life long journey that is emotionally, physically and mentally stress full. I say lifelong because as time goes on so does an individual’s views, abilities and skills. Career exploration is very helpful to a career, because it improves a person's ability to become informed of their interests, skills, values, abilities, aptitudes, weaknesses and strengths It helps in the guidance of career matters across the nation, job influence, growth, work hours opportunities to name a few.
