Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest presidents of all time. He was the 16th president of the U.S. grew up from a working class family and is the physical embodiment of the American dream. Abraham Lincoln is a servant leader because he abolished slavery, kept the south from seceding, he was for a “more perfect union”.

Abraham Lincoln ended the inhumane practice of slavery. By putting forward the Emancipation Proclamation slavery was officially made illegal in the United States. Since he was born poor and self educated he knows what it feels like to struggle. Lincoln had the ability to empathize with people of all sides of in issue. He showed this when he was for the compensation of the owners of slaves only after they were emancipated.
