Does just one murder justify another murder as long as it is done in the name of justice? It is not justice if it is taking a life to show that the crime is wrong. The death penalty causes much pain for everyone attached to it in anyway. It rips apart families hoping for a better life and it tears down hope for the innocent inmates on death row. If the inmates know they will die. they can give up on anything and anyone. The death penalty is cruel to the inmates and not helpful to the inmates families most ways. The death penalty should be abolished because it puts the U.S in financial stress, kills many innocent people, is a slow and painful process for the inmate and their families, and shows much racial bias throughout it.

The combination of too many mistakes and too much money the death penalty does not justify the people that are actually put to death. According to Holloway regular cases cost around 740 thousand dollars while death penalty cases cost around 1.26 million dollars or more. By abolishing the death penalty the United States could save millions of dollars a year to help with more jobs and higher salaries. The states that seek out the death penalty will give out approximately 3.5 million dollars a year, as opposed to around 15 thousand dollars a year if the state has not sought out the death penalty. The death penalty makes no financial sense if the United States is in debt, the money from the death penalty cases should go to that. If the death penalty is abolished then the United States will have more money for the states and might not be in such high debt. The inmates on death row have to deal with the stress of time until the judgement is complete. By getting rid of the death penalty innocent people and their families can live long lives without grief. If the death penalty was abolished then there would be little to no innocent deaths in the justice system and smaller chances to have innocents in jail. The families of the innocent people put to death will finally have closure knowing that no other innocent women or man can be sentenced to death for a crime they did not commit. If we cut the death penalty down then the racial bias will be cut down quite a bit. Racial bias in the justice system is already a problem but it is a larger problem for the inmates on death row.
