Cooking Demo Presentation

1. Describe the form and content of the proposed artifact (Form – what it is – a presentation, a guide, a video, etc. Content – the subject).
The first form of proposed artifact is a cooking demo presentation. The content of this cooking demo presentation would be on nutrition. With this artifact I would demonstrate a few competence that I covered in my focus areas. F-2 is where I was able to demonstrate and understand the multiple effects of how television food shows play a positive and or negative role on how we eat and f-5 can develop a wellness plan to maximize one’s workplace and home-based productivity. This artifact is visual and hands on.

This artifact would involve skills that I learned as a little girl watching my mother flip through cookbooks looking for different meal ideas. Based on courses taken I will combine my nutritional knowledge with some of my favorite recipes that I’ve learned from my mom and great new memories by sharing. I would like for this cookbook to educate, engage, and promote healthy eating.
4. What “new learning” is necessary for you to master the skills inherent in the artifact? Consider the different learning needed to develop the form of the artifact; then, consider the learning connected to its content. (Your library-based resources should reflect both types of new learning.)
Before creating a cookbook I would need to understand the policies and language around publishing a cookbook. I would need to learn how to accurately measure ingredients in a cookbook and have knowledge on the conversions. I would also, need to understand how to market to all audiences and, have more knowledge about marketing sales via social media and online.

By produced a monthly newsletter I would have to stay current on all health and nutritional issues that affect our community so that all information is received within the appropriate timeframe.

The “new learning“ skills that would be necessary for a newsletter would be increasing my skills in creating newsletters. Staying informed on current issues that affect low-income communities. This newsletter would require that I research all information for facts before it’s printed or submitted to the community. If recipes are placed in the newsletter I would have to try all recipes out before they are actually consider and have all nutritional stats. This is an area that needs constant development.
