As a girl growing up around the stereotype that girls do not know how to play soccer and do
not know anything about it. I want to share my opinion on one of my favourite soccer boot;
the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II FG. As soccer boots are a stereotype of men my article fits
in the for Men’s Fitness magazine as other articles similar to mine are published in the
magazine. Furthermore, writing Men’s Fitness breaks the gender stereotype of girls not
knowing anything about sporting equipment. My primary purpose is to persuade men into
buying the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II FG boots. I accomplish this by using descriptive
words and multiple other forms of language techniques

language and informal language is used to appeal to the desired target audience. This can
be seen in the article as I state “With what Nike offers you the price is unbeatable”.
Masculine words such as “Handcuffs” were used to appeal to a male audience.
By strategically placing a large appealing image of the Nike shoes I am able to capture the
attention of the target audience to read the article. The visual image makes the audience
want to read my article on the Nike shoes as they look visually appealing. The use of black
and white font colour makes my article look more sophisticated and striking at the same
time. It also makes the article easier to read and more appealing. Simple, short-sharp
paragraphs helps me get straight to the point about Nike Hypervenom phantom II FG shoes
and allowed the audience to be engaged right until the end.
I used various language techniques to engage and attract the audience’s attention to read
the article. Zoomorphism is used to express the theme of freedom that the shoe
Adidas and Under Armour’s advertisements are similar but sell a different product and sell in different ways. Adidas and Under Armour use pathos to sell as well. This essay is about why they use pathos, how they use pathos, how they sell it with pathos, and what the visual is in the advertisement, and does it work.
Gravity Defying Footwear has put to use certain rhetorical techniques in their advertizing campaign, which can be seen in publications like “Automobile” and “National Geographic.” Their primary question: “Shoes on Steroids?” This advertisement has been circulating since 2005; the shoe was designed by a man named Alexander Elnekaveh, “an inventor, engineer and entrepreneur who has designed and developed hundreds of original inventions” (Alexander). He holds patents for numerous gadgets, innovation, and unique products around the globe. Elnekaveh led a team of experts from various fields, labeled as the Impact Research Technology Group. Elnekaveh produced the first Gravity Defyer shoe in 2004. Since 2005, Gravity Defyer shoes have been unlike any other shoe on the market. As a result in 2005 Gravity Defyer was introduced to the world through “Gadget Universe” and “Skymall” catalogs. Now that you have some background on the product and the person behind the shoes; Elnekaveh sets to point out the benefits of his latest invention in this magazine advertisement, however, the consumer still has to wonder if his shoes live up to the hype, with reasoning, credibility and emotional claims Elnekaveh will try to prove to the consumer that these shoe are the next big thing since “Nike”.
Soccer are footwear which are worn for playing soccer. They play an integral part in a player’s performance. Modern day soccer cleats are far from the basic soccer cleats of the past. They involve different types of science and technology.

In Jessica Statsky’s article, “Children Need to Play, Not Compete’’ points out how competitive sports are not fit for children from ages 8-12,due to the fact that it could trigger both their physical and mental health. First,Statsky elaborates on the idea of children faking an injury due to the fear of getting hurt. She cites a mother of an eight-year-old Peewee Football player, who says “The kids get so scared. They get hit once and they don’t want anything to do with football anymore. They’ll sit on the bench and pretend their leg hurts…” (qtd in Tosches). Some children are driven to even more desperate measures. For example, in one Peewee Football game, a reporter watched the following scene as a player took himself out of the game:“Coach,
This technique is commonly broken into three categories: pathos, ethos, and logos. The multi-billion-dollar company, Nike, is one of many companies that utilizes these techniques to not only sell their products, but present their values and morals as an athletic company. Nike’s, “If you let me play,” ad is a perfect example of a print advertisement that encompasses all three persuasion techniques. The ad has emotional appeal, using pathos to evoke feelings of strength and positivity in young girls and their parents urging them to embrace sports and physical activities. Ethos is a fairly simple persuasive technique for Nike to utilize due to their overwhelming success and popularity. With such a large company, it is easy to establish unspoken credibility. In order to establish further credibility, there are statistics and claims based on logical reasoning that exemplify an advertisement using logos to help the target audience understand exactly what Nike is striving to communicate. Through capitalizing on these persuasive techniques, Nike not only successfully promoted their female athletic apparel, but also educated the public on the importance of empowering young girls and encouraging them to participate in sports and physical activities for the overall betterment of their lives mentally, physically, and
Creators want their commercials, tv shows, movies or articles to draw the audience in. They strive to get your attention using ethos, pathos and logos. A Nike commercial with LeBron James as the star did just that. The commercial about following through with your dreams and becoming big out of nowhere is spine chilling and inspiring.
The corporation should invest more money in research and innovation since this is what has helped them to make a product that rivals their competitors. At the same time, it is imperative for them to improve their machinery for cheap labor costs which will help the company increase its production allowing it to meet the demand in the market. By improving production leading to lower costs of making shoes, apparel, and equipment, Nike will achieve higher demand assuming a quality product is maintained in that process. They will stand a better chance of competing in the industry (Hill, 2009). The organization is already in a better position for meeting the demand, customer taste, and needs. The company should improve quality by focusing on developing lightweight products that are more durable compared to those offered by the competitors. Also, Nike can keep up their success by continuing to reinvent and improve their items and continue to meet the current demand by using new technology. It can also use the Internet to communicate with consumers (Hill, 2009). By developing new technology, Nike will allow the customers to suggest and design their shoes online. To achieve this goal, it is fundamental to enhance areas such as their website to make it more user-friendly. Finally, the company should pay attention to small startup organizations that enter the
It’s because when I sport the Nike swoosh, I feel as if I representing the Nike brand and the beautiful, driven, fit women I see in their advertisements. Feeling this way gives me the inspiration and confidence to play my best. I feel as if I identify with the women in the advertisements by wearing Nike. “The relationship between persons and the product remains one of the most crucial signifiers within advertisements. Persons in advertisements supply the consumer with a certain identification frame—whether the person is presented as a user or is presented within a lifestyle setting, the viewer is invited to identify him/herself with the presented person.” 202 Brand Culture. The Nike brand does a great job at doing this to their consumers to create brand loyalty. Nike brand users, just like myself, see the athletes using the brands and feel a certain connection to them. Brand loyalty should not only be a goal for brands because of the benefit of having their logo advertised on consumers who fit within their target market, but also for PRICE SOMETHING ECONOMY
Nike is one of the most influential businesses in the world today. According to Forbes.com, Nike is the twenty-fourth most valuable brands in the world and it carries over in the way they advertise. The popular swoosh sells itself, but the media plays a valuable role in how they get their message to the public. When analyzing a few print advertisements, we see how the messages are communicated and how the media interprets what the advertisement means.
The bold eye-catching copy that pops out gives the athletic reader the immediate energy to get fit. This ad shows its dominance by occupying two full pages. Covering the entire side of the right page, the words "MAKE YOURSELF FIT" are capitalized in a white font that pops out on the dark city street background. The copy is presented in this way to show the female reader that she is the only one who can make herself fit. The word fit is in a sketchy, italic, white font, that is underlined to show importance. "Fit" is presented in a way that looks as if it is moving forward, showing dominance in a healthy lifestyle. The bold copy talks directly to the audience. "MAKE YOURSELF FIT" shows the audience that they are in control, and the smaller worded message in the lower corner suggests a Nike shoe that makes the wearers stand out. In smaller print at the bottom right corner of the ad, the worded message excites the female reader. "GET FIT" is in a bigger, bolder white font than the rest of the following statement, that matches "MAKE YOURSELF FIT." Next, pops out, "NIKE FREE XT." It is in a hot pink font with varying styles. "NIKE" is in a...
Nike, the cost for a certain logo on your clothing, this might be worth it for some while for others, not even a chance. Nike is known worldwide for their athletic clothing and shoes. But is the price of a 20 dollar headband or a 200 dollar pair of shoes with it for you?
This project concentrates on the Nike Sports shoe; Nike is one of most significant shoe manufacturing company worldwide. Sportswear manufactured by Nike is known for quality and is most liked brand of athletes. (Daniel, 2011)
The developmental stages of a successful campaign help to establish the product in the audience’s mind or consciousness. The stages of the Nike campaign can be described by using the Yale Five-Stage Developmental Model. Yale researchers developed this model while observing the growth of national identity. The first stage of this model is identification. Our text states that “Many products and causes develop a graphic symbol or logotype to create identification in the audience’s mind” (p. 264, Larson). The logo Nike is most famous for is “The Swoosh.” This is the term given to the symbol of winged victory that appears on Nike products. “The design of the swoosh logo was inspired by the wing from the Greek goddess Nike” (p. 3, http://shrike.depaul.edu /~mcoscino/word.html). The Nike logo’s presence can be noted in almost every aspect of the athletic world.
Most people in the world gratefully have the chance to make their own choices and decisions every day.
