A Godly Man
Rev. Dr. Michael Louis Plfeger may come off as bold, compassionate, heartfelt, outspoken, and a worldly man. God made this man out of the image of him, because Rev. Dr. Michael Plfeger does not see like man see. He looks past the eyes, the mind, and reaches for your soul every time he speaks. He has been touch by God’s blood and tries to lead everyone in his path to goodness. Father Mike, as we call him, has been building the community around him for more than 28 years. He has been devoted to God for more than 35 years and still counting. This man has done wondrous things for the children, teens, adults, and his society alone. Dr. Pfleger has tried to use his man power to flip the statistics of Chicago’s south side. Nevertheless, cutting all evil around him, Father Michael Pfleger has made many changes and deserves a nomination better yet, a round of applause.
The Rev. Dr. Michael Louis Pfleger received his B.A. in Theology from Loyola University, his Master of Divinity from the University of St. Mary of the Lake and an honorary Doctor of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. He has also completed post-graduate studies at Mundelein College and the Catholic Theological Union. Father Pfleger was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 14, 1975. In 1981, at the age of 31, he became the youngest full pastor in the diocese when he was appointed Pastor of Saint Sabina Church.

...ng student council at my school. We never had a productive student council until I came. When I came the first thing I wanted to do was to give back to the community like my idol, the person I look up to. I started a toy drive and wanted to raise five hundred toys for the needy children so they have a selection. I reached my goal and more, I received 786 brand new toys, and $100 dollars in donations to buy more toys. I had so much Triumph in my heart from my accomplishments because I know I did this in the likeness of God and followed in the footsteps of a righteous man.
Furthermore, I nominate Father Michael Pfleger, for his compassion, ambition to do more, his courage, his knowledge, his commitment to our community, his vision for a brighter, greener world, and his leadership. I would love to be a legend like him to serve God’s people and have a purpose of living
There are people existing among us with a special trait or characteristic that makes them stand out above the masses. They are “heroes” in a sense, who perform great acts of sacrifice and promote hope when it seems that the last drop of faith has evaporated from one’s soul. These individuals remind us of saints who walked before us, healing and caring for the sick and destitute when no other man dared. Author, Tracy Kidder (2004), brings to the forefront the noble deeds of a modern day saint, Paul Farmer, through his writing in Mountains Beyond Mountains. He illustrates how a single man can lead nations toward healing, even in the midst of war, turmoil, limited resources, or “mountains” of bureaucratic red tape.
Born in Wright City, Missouri, June 21, 1892, he was educated at Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Illinois; Eden Theological Seminary, Webster Groves, Missouri; and Yale Divinity School. In 1915 he was ordained in the ministry of the Evangelical Synod of North America and made pastor of the Bethel Evangelical Church of Detroit. He held that post until 1928, at which time he joined the faculty of the Union Theological Seminary, New York City, where he taught for 30 years. At the time of his retirement (1960) he held a chair of ethics and theology; he also served as dean (1950-55) and vice president (1955-60). After retiring he continued at Union as a lecturer.
In my own life I have been impacted by Billy Graham; several years ago I began to see how important integrity is – at that time I committed never to ride alone in a car with a girl. Although I was unaware of the “Modesto Manifesto” at the time, I knew that Graham refused to be alone with any woman other than his wife, and his vow helped to influence mine. Graham’s dedication to having all the world hearing the Gospel likewise influenced me to take the Gospel to the city of Rochester. Later that year, I was accepted into Spanish Honors Society, a volunteer based program to help out the Spanish communities near my school along with volunteering to help raise money for organizations that help less developed countries. One particular project that I helped raise money for through Spanish Honors Society, was Project Running Waters. The money raised for this event was donated to help people living in Guatemala receive fresh water through pipe systems that would be built. We raised over one thousand dollars to donate to this cause. Knowing that I can positively impact individuals in my community and in other countries makes me feel like I have grown maturely and am able to understand what needs to be done to make a difference to
The Rev. Mark B. McFadden was born and reared in Lebanon, VA. He is the fourth child of the late Wayne and Elnor Mae Hoops McFadden. He is a graduate of Lebanon High School. Upon graduation from high school the Rev. McFadden served in the U.S. Army for four years as a Chaplain’s Assistant and in linguistics. After four years in the Army, the Reve. McFadden completed a B.A. in Theology at Lee University; and a Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary.
He loves being able to celebrate mass everyday and “enrich his relationship with the Lord.” He is able to use his gifts to walk with many in the community through hard times such as parents who loose their children or vice versa. With God’s guidance he can bring them to a place of understanding and peace. This past Holy week he was given the opportunity to give the homily for the Youth Rally mass. After seeing though the eyes of my pastor I’ve come to realize the importance of faith and committing to one’s beliefs. Throughout the fall semester I did community service at a thrift shop and soup kitchen in Lawrence. There I experienced things I have never encountered before in my life. These experiences have taught me a lot, and have truly made me look at America's underprivileged, in a new light.

Pastor George Fleurimond of the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church can best be described as a man full of vigor, spiritualty, compassion as well as nobility. Serving as a pastor for four years, Pastor Fleurimond has spent most of his servitude in Plant City, Florida, where he would preach in a manifestation of as much as 100 people, imparting the word of God to those who sought religious consolation. Not only does he influence the regular-going church members, he also connects with the youth on a weekly basis to ensure they make the right resolutions amongst ever press-ganging peer pressure.
I believe in an all mighty, all knowing creator. It is easiest to comprehend this being as a man or other human like form, but I do not believe this to be the case. God is perfect. God is perfect because he created perfection. This leaves only two options; 1. Everything is perfect because God created it. 2. Every thing is imperfect in comparison to God.
