Ambition as a trait is found across all media types, it's used in tv shows and movies as the main story line or a singular story arc. Breaking bad and the godfather trilogy have ambition as a major part of the storyline. The first quote is from breaking bad season 4 episode 6. “You clearly don’t know who you’re talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No! I am the one who knocks!” (walter S4 E6) this is a pivotal moment in the series, Walter said this to his wife who was telling him to forget his business and turn himself into the police. Walter protected his territory and business from his family and law enforcement by doing whatever he needed to. That included lying and murder. The quote emphasized Walters evolution from High School chemistry teacher to his powerful alter ego, Heisenberg. The next quote is taken from season 5 episode 9. “ If you don’t know who I am, then maybe your best course would be to tread lightly”(walter S5 E9). he said this to Hank, his brother in law who is also a DEA agent. In this episode Hank figures out it was walter who was behind numerous murders to conceal his identity. He tells Walter to bring his family to talk about it. Walter transforms into a person that exudes power, someone Hank doesn't recognize. Walters ambition to provide for his family after he dies, while in theory, led to something bigger and more dangerous than he initially thought. He lost his family, his empire and his life in a fight with a neo nazi
