A Christmas Carol is a popular book that has many different productions including multiple movies, the original book, a comic written by Marvel, and plays. A Christmas Carol was written by Charles Dicken and published December 19, 1843. There is a popular scene where a spirit takes Scrooge (Scrooge is the main character in the book) to a graveyard to show him his grave as punishment for not participating in christmas. In every production of the story this scene has similar and different ways of telling the story. There are two particular ones that I want to compare and these include The Christmas Carol animated film from 2009 and the Muppets a Christmas Carol from 1992. One thing I noticed that was different was that the scene was not that emotional and I say this because in the animated film Scrooge acted like this was really happening to him, while in the muppets version the Scrooge acts less emotional. Another thing I found different was that the spirit was not as creepy as the one in the animated version because the spirit just stands there and is more human like, while the spirit in the animated film was way more creepy.
I have talked about the differences between the two movies now I shall tell you about the similarities. One similarity is that Scrooge ask the same question in the two films that he did in the original book. Both films have Scrooge. Both films have a spirit that Scrooge talks to at the graveyard. Both films show Scrooge waking up in his room. Now that I have explained a few of the similarities and differences between the animated A Christmas Carol ,and the Muppets A Christmas Carol you should watch the two and find other similarities and differences between the two
