The Treaty of Paris had ended The Seven Years War (The French and Indian War). This treaty was signed on February 10th, 1763. During the war, Britain and France were fighting for power over North America. This war lasted from 1754 until 1763. The British and French were struggling for power over North America for almost one-hundred years. To take control of the Indian problem, King George III ordered the proclamation (the treaty) in 1763.
The Treaty of Paris did not involve Prussia and Austria, they had signed a separate treaty, The Treaty of Hubertusburg, five days later. Usually The Treaty of Paris is said to be the point where France gave Louisiana to Spain. Though, the transfer actually happened during The Treaty of Fontainebleau of 1762, but was not spoken publicly until 1764. The actual Treaty of Paris was to give Britain the east side of Mississippi, which all came with Baton Rouge and Louisiana. The east side of New Orleans remained to the French, temporarily. This treaty also confirmed Britain’s accomplishments in the war, also establishing its dominance.
