Abstract:
In America Marijuana has been a topic of debate for many years. Many people of society and even the national government have expressed strong against the uses of marijuana. They view Marijuana as a drug that causes people to act against rules that has been set by society. However they fail to look at the positive benefits that can come from the uses of marijuana which actually have been proven by researchers to have positive benefits when it comes to the well being of people. Even Doctor has found ways that marijuana could be of good use in the medical field. On the contrary they have yet to provide evidence to show how marijuana is a direct cause to violence or even corrupt behavior in society. So the question is can marijuana actual have good benefits for society or is it just bad like most people and the government make it out to be.
Marijuana, also called the grass, pot or weed, is the common name for a crude drug made from the plant called Cannabis sativa. It is a green, brown, or gray mixture of dried, shredded leaves, stems, seeds, and flowers of this plant. Along with that is typically used for pleasure and also medical use. This raises the popular question should marijuana be legalizing in the United States? That has been a question of debate for many years, but no matter your opinion on that here at the present time marijuana is illegal due to the passing of the Uniform State Narcotic Act which was passed in 1937. This law prohibited the use and selling of marijuana in the states.

Marijuana is one of the oldest cultivated plants (Nahas 8). Since it became illegal in 1967, there have been questions of whether or not it is good for purposes, such as medicine, other than being a leisure drug. Debates between pro and con groups for the use of marijuana in the medical profession, have been heated and in recent months, referendums have been pasted in a least three states to make it accessible for medical treatment. Personally, I feel that marijuana has the potential to be a significant help with certain aliments, however, more research needs to be done to maximize its potential.

With the change in public opinion concerning marijuana the need to understand the effect and consequences associated with its use are vitally important. What are the effects on the brain and the rest of the body? Does it matter when you start using marijuana? Also what is the effect marijuana use has on a person’s life, to include school, work, family and friends.
Marijuana has a greater beneficial impact on society then many people realize. Marijuana should be legalized for medical as well as recreational purposes. This is a highly controversial issue that is being debated throughout the country. In essence marijuana is evaluated by the effectiveness of the drug. It is defined as the dried flowered clusters and leaves of a hemp plant smoked for the intoxicating effect. Whether it should be legalized or not is the real question.
