Technology advance has provided an opportunity for businesses to operate and reach their customers through electronic platforms giving rise to new business, commerce and marketing systems including e-business, e-commerce, e-marketing and mobile commerce. However, the terms are mostly confused and used interchangeably hence the objective of this discussion being to differentiate them. In addition, the discussion defines e-marketing strategy and explains how it works.

E-marketing is a fast growing and rapid platform for any form of business. EBay has been highly successful over recent years and this is a perfect example of an online business. The internal and external environments are constantly changing and in order to keep up with these changes, businesses and organisations must make relevant changes, and generate new strategies to keep up with contemporary developments in e-marketing and to also maintain their position in their market in comparison to their competitors.
In today's business world, many consumers prefer a company's presence & position on the internet. E-Business is a magical marketing tool for most companies. The term attracts attention and affects the fundamental tasks of a company's day-to-day operations.
