Living a perfect life is practically impossible. The human race is constantly hounded with do's and don't's. Where did they get such strict regulations for all to follow? From God of course. The Ten Commandments are a list of morals to abide by to be an exceptional person; they are guidelines that help to make good decisions. Although hammered into everyday life, they still manage to be forgotten and or ignored. Breaking a Commandment is one of the many sins that will keep you from entering the Kingdom of Heaven, but breaking a Commandment is not the worst situation that can happen. Asking for forgiveness can give you clean slate once again, but having one of the seven deadly sins engraved into your soul will give you a one-way ticket to Hell if you never change your shameful ways of life. It is said in the book of Proverbs that: "There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers."(The Gideon International Bible Proverbs 6:16-19) More specifically, and in simpler terms, He despises those who are prideful, envious, gluttonous, lustful, wrathful, greedy and slothful. (The Seven Deadly Sins) Sad to say, the majority of people who live here on earth have one or more of these traits. The two most common and obvious sins in our society today are: pride and greed. "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming." (New International Version Bible Coloss... ... middle of paper ... ...prepare because judgement day is coming. “Fear not,[said Jesus] I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades."(New International Version Bible Revelation 1:17-18) God is not dead, He is surely alive, and is coming to save us all.
