Have you ever done something that you didn’t want to do, but you somewhat felt obligated to do it? Peer pressure is a day to day thing that a lot of people deal with. Everyday people get forced into doing drugs and drinking alcohol, and things they really wouldn’t do any other time. This is a powerful and dangerous thing called peer pressure and kids, teenagers, and even adults cannot escape it. There is many different ways of peer pressure such as the use of drugs and alcohol abuse. People don’t always get addicted to drugs on purpose. Most of the time it’s accidently and can ruin lives and even take lives. Steroids have become a widespread issue among athletes these days in high school locker rooms, professional sports, and in some gyms. Most adolescents and even some adult’s desire respect from their peers, and when they find out they can put on massive muscle quickly, they find it hard not to jump on the opportunity, if not at least show interest. They see other athletes and classmates building muscle, and getting more attention from the girls, making them more popular and even better at sports. The temptation then becomes real. Some body builders take anabolic steroids to increase muscle mass and start to get addicted to taking it. Body building is a growing sport and more and more people are taking steroids and other pills and powders to help build muscle. They read and see other steroid users such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alex Rodriguez and most of the NFL. Peer pressure can be tough but it can also be prevented. Peer pressure is the feeling of being influenced to do something you wouldn’t usually do because your peers are doing it. It’s all in your head and only you can prevent it. Don’t fall into words like "come on don't be weak", "you're a chicken", "you're being a baby! Be strong and don’t fall into peer pressure.
