In the beginning of the Bible in the Book of Genesis, it is revealed to use in 1:26-27 that God has created man in his image. The text verbatim states “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” From this distinct text we can clearly conclude that when ad created man and woman, they were destined to be in God’s image and carry his image throughout his creation. Today we can see that many of us do not live in God’s image due to society becoming more secularized as it progresses through the years, however as Christians we can verse this by living in God’s image in our chosen vocations, churches, and even in the secular world.
One may ask what exactly does it mean to be made in God’s image. For someone not familiar with the Christian religion may find this as confusing. Living in God’s image does not exactly mean living as if you are God, which would blasphemy, but instead use our attributes that God has given us that are similar to His own. Christians are aware that God’s image is holy, merciful, benevolent, just, independent, and also rational since he has the ability to reason. Thus since humans were created in God’s image, we all encompass these characteristics.
When it comes to the secular world, one of the hardest attributes that God has instilled in us is the ability to be just benevolent as God is. As humans it seems difficult for you to love everyone and everything on this planet. Some state that it is impossible, but from a theistic point of view, if God is able to be benevolent to all and we are made in his exact image, it should be relatively same for us. ...overall change certain aspects within politics and law. God’s image is magnificent and grandiose, being one of the most beautiful creations to this day. God’s image is meant to be enjoyed and ultimate to help change the world. His benevolence, mercy, justice, and holiness are key attributes that have ultimate grown Christianity and has influenced many vocations today even in the secular world.

Neely opened her paper with a powerful but yet simple scripture from the Bible. “God is Love.” (1 John 4.16) I believe this is one of the many important scriptures to look back on when talking about a Christian worldview. Love is the core of my Christian worldview. In Luke's Gospel, Jesus mentions this "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” He says, "Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back…” (Luke 6:30-36) Christian love is giving to others what you would want them to give to you in that situation, even if they can’t give it back.
2 Corinthians 3:18 states, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” God transforms Christians into His likeness. Genesis 1:27 reveals that, in the Garden, we were completely in His likeness: “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” To the artist, in the image of God means something different than what is often taught in Sunday schools. According to Sayers, “Is it his immortal soul, his rationality, his self-consciousness, his free will, or what, that gives him a claim to this rather startling distinction? . . . Looking at man, he sees in him something essentially divine, but when we turn back to see what he says about the original upon which the ‘image’ of God was modeled, we find only the single assertion, ‘God created’. The characteristic common to God and man is that: the desire and the ability to make things” (Sayers 17). The artist, like God, creates something out of nothing. But, there is an important distinction between something beautiful and poetic and something shoddy and cheap.
We were designed for one purpose, to honor and love our creator (Matthew 6:24). When we look at ourselves, and others we find that we each have individual humanistic characteristics. Each with different thoughts of how we perceive God and what we think he wants from us. By using our talents and gifts wisely and just we are giving praise back to our creator (1 Timothy 6:17).
There are several aspects to consider when exploring the Christian worldview. There are many facets or denominations and they each have their own distinct beliefs and practices, but they all share the same fundamental beliefs. In this Paper we will explore the character of God, His creation, humanity and its nature, Jesus’ significance to the world, and the restoration of humanity, as well as my beliefs and the way that I interact with Christianity and my personal worldview.
Then, God realized Adam was needing a partner to help accomplish the tasks he had assigned him; thus, God created Eve from one of the ribs of Adam. In the perfect setting of the Garden of Eden, there was a partnership between man and woman in which they worked side by side, but once sin entered the world, the partnership has been distorted. Part of the punishment for Eve after the fall was that women’s “desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you” (Genesis 3:16) meaning that there will now be struggles within the partnership of man and woman, and the man will rule over the woman. Yet, there are still key characteristics that prevail in the way humans are to interact with each other. In Christianity, the emphasis is placed on love of God rather than on obeying his will. People must believe that God is merciful and loves them as well. As a reflection of God’s love, people must also love other people (and the whole humanity in general) and forgive their enemies.
The relationship between God and his creations humans can be said to be a very complex relationship. Genesis shows us many examples of God's interaction with humans and human's interaction with each other. From the creation of Adam and Eve and all the events that follow afterwards, I shall show what the relationship tells us about the nature of God and mankind.

In the Old Testament God delivered the Israelites from physical slavery in Egypt by Moses. In the New Testament God has made it possible for our deliverance from sin through Jesus, the second person of the trinity. Jesus is described as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. In every religion there is a distinctive understanding of value and duty, of right and wrong, and of good and bad. Modern Christianity is no exception and believes in each of these things. Christians know there is only one God and he created and rules over all things. They know that it is through Gods grace and love that we may have eternal life. That love and grace does not come without a price. The price is a life that is lived for God. It carries with it certain ethical and moral responsibilities to the community and all mankind. Those moral and ethical responsibilities are the backbone for society.
