Japan's government is a Parliamentary government, with a Constitutional monarchy. This government consists of three branches, the Judicial branch, the Executive branch, and the Legislative branch. The Judicial branch is the Supreme Court, the Executive is the head of the government, chief of state, cabinet, and the elections. The Legislative is the elections too, just a bit more complicated. Like us, each of them cannot just simple put laws or changes by themselves, they need the Legislative branch and the Judicial branch to accept them, then it goes to the emperor, and He decides whether to accept it, or VETO it. It's just like us, but there are miner differences.

The Japanese flag, it's fairly simple, isn't it? A solid red circle on a white rectangle. But it has a meaning. The Red circle represents a sun without rays, it means Sincerity, Brightness, and Warmth. The white rectangle represents nothing, but the color represents Honesty, and Purity. The flag became official in 1868, but modified by the legislation in 1999. There is a legend about this flag, in the thirteenth century, Japan invaded Mongol, and a Buddhist Priest offered the flag to the Emperor of Japan, who was considered a descendant of the sun goddess Amaterasu.

Japan is pretty famous for it's Animated movies and shows, or as people call in 'Anime.' Most of Japan watches Anime, most likely all of Japan does. America watches Anime too, just the English version, which doesn't always sound right according to some people, so they watch it with subtitles, and the language is a bit more violent in Japan. The famous Anime, Dragon Ball Z, was popular in America, and was insanely popular in Japan, There were games and movies about the show, but America had them too, they just got it later. There are all sorts of examples I could use, but DBZ(Acronym for Dragon Ball Z) seemed like the best example.
This characteristic is a good quality of its government, which is divided in three branches: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. The executive branch is set to make sure that laws are carries out the proper way. The Governor, the Lieutenant General, and the Attorney General are part of this branch. The legislative branch is composed by the Senate and the House of Representatives, which makes it a bicameral branch. Its job is to generate laws and balance the budget. Then, the judicial branch, composed by the supreme court, county and local courts, is in charge of civil and criminal cases. The Tokugawa period, also known as Edo period (1603-1867), was the final period of traditional Japan that lasted for more than 250 years (britannica.com,2013). The period was a time of internal peace, political stability, and economic growth under the Shogunate founded by Tokugawa Ieyasu. The Tokugawa Shoguns maintained strict control over the structure of society by keeping a firm control over what they were allowed to do and what they were not allowed to do.
The Constitution of Japan contains articles about equality between men and women but many times, law is not properly enforced or enacted. Keeping this in mind, the true extent to which the federal legislation actually augmented women's freedoms needs to be analyzed. This is why the subject of my research is, "To what extent did the Japanese Constitution result in greater freedom and increased rights for Japanese women in the mid twentieth century?" The scope of this research is valuable because it examines the development of feminism in Japan, which empowered women and explains the development of equal rights. The historical significance is that it can provide helpful information that can be applied to studying current global issues in which inequality between the sexes is visible. Journal articles about and federal bills of the Japanese Constitution will be investigated to analyze the conditions promised on paper, while primary accounts of Japanese women's lives will be examined to discover the true extent in which these new laws were enforced and how much independence the women genuinely gained. Furthermore, general conditions of women in the several decades after the proclamation of the Constitution will also be analyzed since such legislation can take several years to alter society.
Japan is part of our world that not many people know, for the few that do, they know that Japan is filled with an extraordinary history. Some of the history starts with little traditions like, the tradition of kimono’s, to big ones such as their well known Japanese festivals. Ancient Japan was a series of islands and many cultural expansions which included religion, armies, art, classic traditions, and their type of clothing. Ancient Japanese is still alive today, from basic works of art, to then a following of certain religions such as Shinto and Buddhism. Many Americans don’t the cultural aspects that were attributed by many across the world, they don’t know that many of those aspects made what Japan is today in society.
The Japanese government isn't all that much different than that of which we Americans have. Both countries have an executive leader, which is the Japanese Prime Minister, and of course the American President. Both countries also have a constitution, the Japanese was not written by choice though, but written under General MacArthur's supervision in 1946 following their surrender in World War II, when an Occupation Government was also set up for them, most likely not by choice. Their constitution is almost identical to ours because it states that political power rests with the people, and also starts out the same as ours by saying; We, the Japanese People. Both countries have a legislature, which theirs is called the "National Diet."
On the other hand, the democracy powers are divided into three independent branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial. The leaders of the executive and legislative branches, the president, vice president and Senate, are decided by direct vote of the electorate. INTRODUCTION : a brief overview of the current situation regarding the security issue in the Pacific region
Japanimation (Japanese animation) is becoming one of Japan's most popular exports to the world; it has become a growing phenomenon in the US. Anime has attracted hordes of fans in many countries; the artistic detail, and the intriguing and the outrageous storylines are causing fans to be addicted. College fan clubs, societies, and the Internet have popularized anime (derived from a French word, but is used in Japan to describe animation) to the point of conventions being held all over the world. Anime ratings range from “G” to “NC-17.” These ratings only exist when they are imported into the US, as in Japan their rating system is different. The Japanese air shows on television that contains a lot of violence and nudity in it. On American television, extreme violence and nudity is prohibited for children, especially if the show is animated. Some animes are cute and are made specifically for children; then there are animes that are for teenagers that have romance, love, and everyday situations that teenagers go through. The most gruesome kind of anime consists of bloodshed, violence, nudity, sex, and bad language. Ding said, "Well first of all, when you have Saturday morning cartoons on channel twenty and fifty, people thirst for good animation and something different. Anime is just that, Americans have never seen or even thought of extreme violence, nudity, or cussing in cartoons. Since the Japanese don't think that nudity in cartoons is lewd, no one in Japan cares if they see someone naked popping up on the screen" (G. Ding, personal communication, November 2, 2000).
We will explore some important facts about Japan’s cultural society and environment. The country of Japan is an island nation, which is separated from Mainland Asia by the Sea of Japan. (“Facts about Japan”) On the west side it is surrounded by the Northern Pacific Ocean. It has no land boundaries.
Singapore as a country has had various transformations throughout its history, however the period 1950 and 1970 was quite critical. Much of these changes had a lot to do with the development of trade and manufacturing. This is without forgetting the financial sector where the intention was to come up with a financial hub that could be used in economic development. Looking at the case of Singapore, we would say that it is a productive economy with a very high market competition. This observation has been further clarified by the Swiss International Institute for Management Development, going with their report that they released in the year 2001 (Chellaraj & Mattoo, 2009). In this study, we intend to evaluate the case of political economy of development in Singapore and examine the tensions between the state and various economic institutions. In additions to examining this institution, we would also like to examine how these variables have contributed towards the attainment of favorable growth rates and economic prosperity.
Perhaps more than any other nation in the world, Japan is shaped by its geography to a tremendous extent. Throughout its history, Japan has striven to define its national identity not by its own means, but by those predefined by foreign, and most recently, Western powers. Despite legends of the island archipelago being created by the sun goddess Amaterasu, Japan seems to have consistently maintained a indecisive self-image with respect to its neighbors. In the past, China had represented the pinnacle of culture and technology and had tremendously influenced other surrounding countries in Asia and in the world. Indeed, Japan owes its written language to imported and adapted Chinese characters. Without question, China remained for a long time the most influential force upon Japan. However, island nation maintained a rather precarious self-identity: How could a country like Japan, which was supposedly created by the gods and therefore a divine nation, consider itself the apex of the world, given China’s tremendous influence and power? Could Japan truly consider itself the greatest land in the world if China, or Chugoku in Japanese, literally meant “the central country?” For this reason, Japan never truly accepted a position of “belonging” to Asia. That is, despite a considerable amount of imported culture, Japan was still somehow inherently different from other Asian countries.

I chose to compare and contrast the United States culture with the culture of Japan. There are a few similarities between the two, such as a love of the arts, fashion and baseball. However, they are culturally different than similar in very major aspects. Japan is a very homogenous society made up of about 98% ethnic Japanese. They tend to put a lot of emphasis on family and communities, and value the group more than the individual (Aliasis, 2013).
Japan is a large island off to the east of China it is a great country that has a rich culture. The Japanese religion is based off of two main beliefs, the belief in Shinto and Buddhism many Japanese people believe consider themselves both. The Japanese people were known to be around as early as 4,500 B.C. They have constructed their government style to a constitutional monarchy where they do in fact have an emperor, but he has limited power within the country. The main power of the country is held by the Prime Minister of Japan. Japan is made up of many islands that extend along the Pacific coast of Asia. The land area is made up of a lot of forest and mountainous area that cannot be used for agricultural, industrial or residential use. Japan also has one of the largest and growing economies in the world. They are growing every day and it is all because the people of Japan work very hard in order for their economy to flourish as it has.
