Summary The title of the book is “The Audacity of Hope;” and it is written by current president Barack Obama. In 2004, he was only a young U.S. Senator from Illinois, who was driven into the national eye at the 2004 Democratic Convention when he delivered a speech called “The Audacity of Hope.”After less than twenty minutes of speaking, Obama’s name was known all over the country, with many political examiners predicting that he was well qualified to enter the next presidential race. Before this, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School. He then got a job as a civil rights attorney, and from 1992 to 2004, he became a professor of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School. As a senator representing the …show more content…
Many times in the text he says “a new kind of politics, one that can excavate and build upon those shared understandings that pull us together as Americans,” (Obama 9). He continuously describes Abraham Lincoln as an ideal example of this quote. Lincoln, having only two years of Congressional experience, was able to become president and lead the country through some of the most crucial years in history using his remarkable trust in American values. The lessons of his leadership are repeated many times in the book to illustrate …show more content…
He is more interested in what the individual, the voter, can do in politics; rather than political tactics. Furthermore, Obama again presents the ideas of humanity, charity, and an eagerness to cooperate with opponents, something much needed in the current day. However, while Obama’s opinions are spot on, his solutions are idealistic; making them very unrealistic for the current world. In Chapter Two: Values, Obama wants a political scope the action plans, values, and ideas of a candidate are more important than who they are dating or what color shoes they wore. I wish this could be possible, but this useless information often blows up in the media and conquers any valid information about a candidate. Although Obama is right, the media will always be making up the latest crap to destroy or enforce a certain
The truth is Barack Obama underwent a path of confusion and desperateness. Yet, every good and bad experience he had helped him see the world from a different perspective. A perspective that would guide him to a successful future.
In recent years, President Obama and the way he handles things has become a very controversial topic. In the article “Obama’s ‘Where’s Waldo?’ Presidency” Ruth Marcus describes that controversy, in which she gives her opinion of President Obama. Marcus begins by discussing how in Barack Obama’s campaign he talked about “change we can believe in”, but she later tells the reader that he has “been missing in action” (Marcus, Paragraph 1). Throughout the article, she tells of numerous issues that Obama seemed to be missing on, and presents the reader with the question, where is President Obama?
President Barack Obama has been a well-known political figure for just over 8 years; he has served two terms as the President of the United States. There has been controversy surrounding the first African American president, after his first term Obama failed to prove to America that he would fix all the things he promised to fix upon election. With his second term he has set in place his views and goals for the country. Obama’s views have been trying to benefit the overall population of American, from the poor all the way to the rich with a few subclasses in-between. During the Inauguration of his second term, won against Mitt Romney. His opponent stood for many things that were conflicting to Obamas platform, while Obama stood for rehabilitating the poor after the recession, Romney wanted to focus on tax breaks for the rich. Throughout the speech given by President Barack Obama, he outlines necessary changes in the system to benefit the people and the need for people to come together as one to have an effective country.
...or the people of his same country, the United States of America. In my opinion, he is a rare politician who has bold, innovative policies, and a man such as this running for office would ensure such great things for our country. The Audacity of Hope is nothing but common sense, his aesthetic appeals and persuasive ways are incredible, and I would definitely read the book a second time. After completing the book, I respect Barack Obama as our current president, and I most definitely believe that Barack, the Democratic/Republic government and all independent citizens across the country should take into consideration some traditionally liberal ideas that are available in order to make this country a better place for everyone.
He makes sure his audience connects with him directly by making them feel at his level, and at hiss. This way he connects to the audience, and in exchange, helps his statement of unity. Using various examples of parallelism, anaphora and refrain, Obama brands the theme of equality and togetherness in our country throughout the speech, vital to gaining the respect of his audience. Obama recalls the ‘enduring strength of the constitution’ by delving into the past alluding to America’s allegiance to the Declaration of Independence by quoting “we hold these truths. that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.
Although finally getting recognition as an American citizen after years of slavery the authority does not put effort in aiding black people to realize the American Dream. Rather than directly accusing the politicians for their faults, Martin Luther King uses his speech as a way to show America the injustice by bringing
In section two (Chicago) of Baracks book, Dreams from My father: A story of Race and Inheritance marks an experience of learning for Obama. Obama throws himself into his new job as a community organizer with determination. His specific role includes the mobilization of local churches of all backgrounds, politics and community representatives, but he is up against a wall of cynicism. Of the numerous lessons he learned, the most drastic would be learning how to move in towards the centers of people’s lives by communicating with them and his change in faith.
During President Obama’s run for presidency, he has given many speeches. One in particular stood out, March 18, 2008 to the understanding of society today and society then. His speech targeted race, within this speech,he gives examples to why our society today could never be as the Gilead. Obama has high hopes, faith and wants better for our future society. Whereas Gilead is the bad outcome of after The United States of America.

Barack Obama leadership styles help for the success of the country and also the world.
Barack Hussein Obama also struggled and suffered a lot during his life, but he ended up as the 44th President of The United States of American. He achieved his American Dream, and in his situation it was slightly impossible. Barack Hussein Obama comes from a Muslim family, and he is also black, and his dad is from Kenya, considering the racism in the world today, and the fact that he’s not fully American, achieving what he achieved was almost impossible. Obama showed how America is free and anyone can achieve their American Dream there.
In his detailed article, “Barack Obama’s Timeline Begins in 1961,” Mathis Truman recounts Obama’s journey towards making history. He emphasizes how Obama endured a horrendous childhood. In spite of his tribulations, Obama managed to be not only the first African American president in the United States but also the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. Throughout my intensive research, Truman’s article provided an accurate account of Obama’s life. He managed to not exclude any aspect of Obama’s journey while presenting the information with an unbiased tone. Thus, this comprehensive timeline by Truman is quite exceptional and will definitely add significance to my exploratory essay.
Nothing would be better when President Obama would be at an event and start singing or cracking jokes with the crowd to lighten the mood or to make everybody’s days. During the two terms, he was an amazing president and did so much more than what I have written in this paper.
In the autobiography, Obama entails on the beginning journey of his life from early childhood to young adulthood. The novel begins with him finding out from his aunt that his father has passed away in Nairobi. Obama’s father left him and his mother when he was only 2 years old. Obama then talks about the family he grew up with, his mother and grandparents, and the racism they dealt with at a time when few accepted interracial relations and even more so marriages. He recalls being made fun of as a young child when other kids would make monkey noises when it was discovered his father was from Kenya. He then moves to Indonesia when his mother remarries, but then at 10 years old moves back to Hawaii where he spent his early childhood. It was with his grandparents that he developed much of his character and learned how strongly education was emphasized in his family. Obama also talks about how fascinated he was with by his father. As he grows a bit older into adolescence, Obama learns more about race relations and reads the book Heart of Darkness. This book helps him to see how white people look at black people, as a white man wrote the book talking about black people.
