The science related career that I chose was a dietitian. The main parts of this job are to help and tell people about healthy eating and living. Some of the other tasks of a dietitian are, giving people advice about healthy eating, making presentations, doing reports, making sure that people can accept their illnesses, explain health nutrition to the public, helping people with dietary changes and knowing all the key health needs. Dietitians are trained health care professionals. They have to know how to help people change their eating habits to help people with sometimes life threatening illnesses. A dietitian researches new ways to improve health care and can prepare future dietitians for their jobs.
Dietitians sometimes own their own business and are self-employed. They also may work for the private health care sector or at pharmaceutical and food/drink companies. The average dietitian earns between $65,000 – $75,000 annually. If you live in Canada and you want to be a dietitian, Calgary and Edmonton would be the best place to work since they get paid about $40.47 an hour which is a lot more than in Prince Edward Island where they are only paid $21.60 per hour. In Toronto which is the closest to Waterloo, they pay an average wage of $33.59 an hour so that would be a good place to be if you were a dietitian.
To have this amazing job, some things you must do. First of all, you have to earn your Bachelors degree in food and nutrition. You must get this degree from one of the universities that have been accepted by Dietitians of Canada (DC). The types of courses that you would need to complete are, basic science (chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology), social sciences and communications, and profession-relate...

The career that I researched was forensic pathology. The job of a pathologist is to determine a person’s cause of death by examining tissues and fluids from the body. A forensic pathologist does this as well, but they are trained to examine people who died unexpectedly or violently and to recognize other things that a regular pathologist might not, such as recognizing something as intentional rather than accidental. They have to determine who the person is, the time of death, the manner of death, and if it was accidental, the instruments which caused the death.
The career I chose is sports medicine. Sports medicine is a career based on helping those injured whether they are an athlete or a 23-year-old in a car accident. After doing some research on which career is best for me, I chose sports medicine because I have a fascination with helping those that may be hurt, out of shape, or in rehab and need to get back on their feet. Sports medicine has always been my dream job because it fills that desire for me to help those that are injured, allowing me to expand into different branches to provide assistance to those recovering; also providing an income that I will be able to live comfortably.
In the degree that I am seeking I know there will be a lot of science to take. Science has always come natural to me, possibly because you can actually see the product and touch it. I plan to become a veterinarian not just for the love of animals but for the science and knowledge also. The dissecting of animals has always been interesting to me. It is a whole new world that I can wait to explore even more. It is amazing how God made living creatures. I just want to help keep them form getting sick and doctoring them when they do.
As a child in middle school, I started thrusting myself in my academic career. I joined Science Olympiad, in which students compete in different sciences. I competed in events such as astronomy or anatomy and from this point on the passion for science grew. When I entered high school, I continued my career with Science Olympiad, but decided I needed to broaden my perspective. There had to be more than science olympiad, a whole new field that would let me practice and see science working at one of it's best.
In addition to learning about dietetics in a hospital, I helped organize patient charts corresponding to each dietitian on the floor and learned about the dietitians’ experience and opportunities in the dietetic profession. Because of my interest, the dietitian director offered me a catering associate job at the hospital. Being a catering associate provided hands on experience using the concepts and information I learned in my classes. As a catering associate, I prepared diets for patients according to their nutrition diagnosis and practiced customer service by interacting with patients when I delivered their foods. Because I was able to experience the business and clinical aspects of nutrition, I decided to get the foodservice experience of nutrition. Currently, I am the Student Manager Intern at Littlefield Patio Café. As a Student Manager Intern, I have created binders that are user friendly for new workers. The binders include the employees’ responsibilities, food preparations and recipes, customer service, food safety guidelines, and professionalism in the work field. This helped increase
The job that I choose was a forensic scientist. What they do is they analyze physical evidence of a crime that has been committed. They take photos of the different crime scenes and important evidence and sometimes make sketches. Forensic scientists mostly work in a laboratory, in offices, outside and many other places. They also have to write a lot of reports for the crime scenes and what they have found.
I am inspired to explore the field of dietetics which is very broad and dietitians perform a variety of functions in their jobs. As a dietitian, I can work in a wide variety of positions such as a foodservice manager in commercial or institutional, a community nutritionist, such as the WIC and Headstart, a consultant to major food corporations such as Kelloggs and Kraft or go into sales. I am very interested in working in a position where I can help people develop habits to improve their health. I may eventually go on to graduate school to advance my knowledge of dietetics.
The career that I choose is registered nurse. The reason why I choose this career it because nurse is like and angle that help painful patients to become relives. Registered nurse’s responsibilities are treating and caring for patients, also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. (Charter College)
A registered dietician is a qualified and trained nutritional health care professional who has satisfied the stringent educational and practical measures set by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (citation). Registered dietitians are capable of working in various occupational environments, such as hospitals, nutrition and food industries, research centers, business corporations, and hospitals.
In this profession I must be of great understanding of basic nutritional terms like: Calories, Carbohydrates, Proteins, Vitamins, Minerals, Fiber, Cholesterol and Saturated, Monsaturated and Polyunsaturated fats. These terms will likely be a part of my every-day lingo when I develop meal plans for my clients. In this profession, I can help people live healthier lives overall. It can even help people prevent illnesses and reduce risks of any chronic diseases all while promoting wellness.
The career I researched was that of a dietician. Someone who wishes to become a dietician must first obtain a bachelor’s degree, which would be considered a minimal requirement. Most dieticians will tell you that it would be within the best interests of a student wishing to become a dietician to get a master’s degree. Dieticians must have a love for science (chemistry in particular) and algebra as these skills are practiced routinely in the profession. It would also be a good idea for someone wishing to become a dietician to take some kind of accounting or book-keeping class, as dieticians must work on and file multiple records for each of their patients.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for nutritionists was $55,240 in May of 2012. The entry level education is a bachelor’s degree in dietetics with some work experience in a related occupation. The courses involved in this profession include: nutrition, psychology, chemistry and biology. It is strongly recommended to receive several hundred hours of job training or internships enrolled in college and of course after graduation in coordinated programs in dietetics. Also, it’s important to know the rules and requirements which state you belong to because depending on the state, you may be required to have a certificate along with a license in your supervised practice area or just one of the two. There are special cases in a few states that have no regulations for a nutritionist. For the states that require a license, it is best to strive for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential. Now depending on the state you are in, you may ...
Becoming a veterinarian would be a great career path for me because I will go to the extra lengths to make sure I cure every illness. I would also make sure that my practice is executed equally. I will use my research to find diverse ways to solve unanswered questions of uprising diseases. Having to use my problem solving skill to evaluate every new patient because they cannot communicate what is wrong with them. I would also get to work with other animal lovers on a regular basis and enjoy working with coworkers who truly enjoy their jobs and are fully committed to helping
The career i chose is a branch of the medical field. I chose a career in nursing, more specifically the career path of a registered nurse. This career consists of providing care for people of all ages and helping them with managing their conditions. I chose this career because my mother is an rn and my family has a strong presence in the medical field. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills, or talents needed, salary, benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision.
