Chemistry has had a colossal impact on the advancement of technology throughout the world. Every electronic item can acknowledge chemistry for its creation. A main example that everyone knows of would be the television. Without chemistry, there would be no technology; and without technology, we would not be where we are today.
Before television was invented people tried to find different ways to entertain themselves. One bizarre thing people used the do was to attend surgeries for entertainment. They found surgery to be very interesting and thrilling so they watched for their entertainment, almost like a TV show but in real life. Before television was invented news could not be delivered on a screen broadcasted to everyone, therefore newspapers were looked to as the primary source of news throughout the world. “They could not just turn on the TV and see Brian Williams there telling us local news or tragedies going on around the world or in the local area.” (Weebly.com) However, Newspapers were not the only source of news. There was a radio in almost every household in America. Radio entertainment was a popular thing before the era of television. The radio enabled people to listen to popular music and was updated with national news right when it occurred. Also, people could listen to sports programs on the radio. Before television, People had to actually leave their houses to find some sort of activity to watch or participate in. Before television was invented, society was more active. With no television in front of the couch to entertain them; children had to find something to do. Children before the time of television liked to run around the neighborhood and play tag or sports, like baseball, with their friends. Family bonds ...

... almost irrelevant due to the thousands of news stations on television. Television may not have the best impact on the world’s future.
The television can attribute its creation and advancement throughout the years to chemistry. Before television, life was different; people were more focused on family and physical activity. Due to plasma, televisions have been able to advance profoundly throughout the generations and are able to produce any color you can think of. Although television is a brilliant invention, it can have a more negative impact on society than it can good. In my opinion, society will continue to get worse as technology advances. People will become more dependent on technology, the television included, over the years. Without chemistry, technology would be basically non-existent and we would have no clue what a television is, let alone a plasma screen.
Many of the technological advancements in entertainment helped people live a much happier and exciting life. The television was wanted by almost every average American family in this decade and overwhelmed millions of baby-boomer children who’s relationship with TV has influenced the United States’ culture and politics. ...t has not stopped television from being one of the most successful mediums for the dissemination of information.
Media has had many changes in the past years. Growing up I remember my mom saying that we were lucky to have color televisions now. She would say that when she was younger she would have to hear her stories and games over the radio because back then there was no televisions. Another way of getting entertained was reading stories. The newspaper and the radio was the only way of getting news back then. I thought it was funny when my mom told me that since they were one of the few families that had a television in the neighborhood, she would charge the kids 10 cents to watch television in her house. This was actually a pretty smart thing to do.
Television has been around for decades. On average people tend to watch television on a daily basis. As society is advancing in the world so is the television culture. People have debated on whether or not television is beneficial for people. Watching television does have an influence on society like keeping you updated on what is going around the world and it is entertaining for people to watch television. It should not be a big deal because in this generation people tend to watch television every day. Television helps individuals exercise their brain and it also help people relieve stress.
...ay, it has not stopped television from being one of the most successful mediums for the dissemination of information.
Television has long been a part of American culture. From its conception until today there have been people who believe that television is a waste of time and energy and there have been those in the opposite camp who believe that television should be a part of every American life. There is also a middle ground of people who watch television to keep informed on what’s happening in the world as well as entertained by the latest sitcom, or more popularly today, reality show.
... viewing quality becomes and the more channels we can get, the more people are likely to stay inside. Don’t get me wrong, I love TV, and I feel that it is one of the most important inventions that this world has been blessed with; but I feel that it is taking away from some of the “realness” of our lives. People are becoming less healthy, they are developing eye and other health problems, and they don’t know what is real and what is not any more. I hope that in the future television designers and makers can develop so new technologies that would improve and not worsen our environment. The television is a very helpful and important tool that has had a great impact on our society, but we need to be aware of how this tool has also affected out environment as well, so next time you watch you television, think about what impact you might be having on our environment!
All in all television is an invention that changed society more than any other invention throughout the greater 20th century. It is hard to imagine a world without television, considering all of its uses.
What Edward R. Murrow meant was that television was a great thing if used correctly, if not it was useless.
Television is a very important part of today’s society. Without the invention of television, the world would be without many wonders, such as Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Here Comes Honey BooBoo, and Jersey Shore. More importantly, daily news, breaking updates, mass information, and quality programming would unaccessible to thousands, if not millions, of people. Television has changed the way information is spread and changed the way the world experiences entertainment. Although much has changed throughout the history of the television, the main point has stayed the same. Whether a person’s first experience with a TV was a small black and white box with very few channels or an LCD or Plasma flat screen with thousands of channels, it has impacted the lives of millions all over the developed world and especially in the United States. With all the advances and changes made to the original television design, it is obvious that the first one had enough of a societal and technological impact to last for a long time.
TV delivers various types programs to a larger audience faster than any other medium i.e. sports, documentaries, dramas, sitcoms, soap, cartoons, reality shows, news, cartoons etc
Television is everywhere these days, not just in our living rooms but in bathrooms, kitchens, doctor's offices, grocery stores, airplanes, and classrooms. We have access to TV virtually anywhere and as American's we are taking advantaged of it. Adults aren't the only ones watching TV; children today are watching more TV than ever before. TV has even become known as "America's baby-sitter." (Krieg). Meaning that parents are now using the television as a way of entertaining their children while they attempt to accomplish other things such as cooking and cleaning.
Television and technology has grown tremendously over the years; therefore, the TV models have advanced over the years. John L. Baird was the first person to invent television in September 7, 1927. He was a famous scientist of Scotland; he demonstrated his invention at the Royal Institute of Great Britain in 1926. It was not fully developed till the late 1940s. The invention of TV made an enormous effect on many Americans. Right after television was invented not many Americans had one because they were pricy and they couldn’t afford one. The numbers of TVs sold, went up in 1929, Bard sold several hundred TVs because only the wealthy could afford one. 98 % of U.S homes had one per house and spent an average of more than seven hours a day, in the late 1990s. The invention of television can be a benefit or harm to Americans because there’s some good educational shows and some shows that are not good. For instance, Discovery, History, Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) channels are some good educational shows because it helps us understand and have knowledge of the World. However, there are some shows that are not good for kids and adults are: The Jersey Shore, 16&Pregant, The Real World, Jesses and Hannah Montanna.
