I haven’t done a lot of writing in the past. However, the writing I have done has just been for my school. I have never liked writing so I kept writing only to what I needed to write for school. But the kinds of writing I have done are reports, autobiographies, and writing about people from history. I never wanted to do my writing assignments like I was supposed to, which didn’t help me learn how to write. I also have the writing I did last semester, which wasn’t much. But the writing I did do last semester helped my writing so much. Last semester I learned how to put a paper together and what goes into a paper; I didn’t know a lot about writing before last semester. Also, I learned how to do MLA, which I had no idea how to do before. Writing is difficult and I don’t see myself using writing often.
I don’t see myself using writing a lot in my future. I will only use writing when I need to for business. I am not going to go around writing all the time and I don’t see myself using writing a lot when I am done with school. So, I am going to try not to use writing a lot but when I need to I know I will have the skills to write. Hopefully I can get by with as little writing as possible once I am done with school. I don’t want to have to write much I my schooling, but I know I will have to some. However, I won’t be doing a career where I have to write a lot.
Writing is difficult for many reasons. I have dyslexia, which make writing more difficult. Although dyslexia makes school more difficult I have never let it stop me and I am not going to start now. Also, I have never been good at coming up with words that sound good together and I don’t like to write. I am also not confident with my writing I never think it’s good. Getting started...

Writing isn’t for everyone I know it’s not for me. Writing can be hard and challenging, but also fun if you make writing to be. I haven’t ever found writing to be fun, but I do not hate writing as much as I used to. Since I have started writing more and learn how to write better it has become a little more tolerable. I don’t want to write a lot when I am done with school, but when I have to I now have the skills to write well.

What about writing and the writing process makes it so disliked and, in some cases, even feared? “Fun?” by Lex Runciman, an English teacher at the Linfield College in Oregon, is an insightful article that explores why many people don’t enjoy writing. He is a very credible author because he has taught college English classes for many years and has written and published several books. His main claim throughout the article is that many people dislike writing and feel that it is frustrating because it is not perceived as or made out to be fun, enjoyable, or rewarding. Runciman wrote this article because, at the time, he felt that there was not enough being done to reverse the negative image that surrounds writing. He wants his readers to realize through his article that writing and the writing process can actually be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Runciman uses evidence, assumptions, and language and tone as a basis for his argument.

I have never liked writing; I always thought it was a waste of time. It was a great therapy but I never found academic writing to be useful just tedious. Only ever writing when I had too made it harder for my writing skills to grow or improve in any way. I have not taken an English class since the 10th grade, even then I never gave it much effort, just doing what I had to so I could pass the class. Then I jump in to College English 1010, I feel like I do well in all other subjects but this one. English is my worst nightmare.
Dyslexia is brain based condition. It’s causes difficulty with reading, spelling, writing and speaking. The brain has trouble recognizing or processing certain types of information. Dyslexia is a hidden disability in the classroom. Teachers should know about to help students.
Suzanne K. Langer, the author of “Language and Thought” states that “the birth of language is the dawn of humanity” (120). The “dawn of humanity” refers to the beginning of time, the beginning of life, the beginning of society, and we, as people need language to survive every day in civilization. Humans haven’t always had the glory of language. Millions of years ago, science has proven that we have evolved from chimpanzees because of our fairly similar DNA. We have similar facial structure, body language, and protective instincts; although language is what defines us as human and what allows us to become individuals. Writing for me has always been a love and hate relationship since I could remember. Depending on the subject matter that I was writing about I would enjoy it because it suited my style or I loathed it because that specific style was uninteresting and boring to me. Learning certain writing formats were absolutely the worst part about writing when I first started learning in high school. As time pushed on and I grew older I began to develop an appreciation for writing that I did not have before; which is what led me to taking Writing 101 as my first full-fledged college course. I began this course with minimal writing experience because of what I failed to retain before, but now I am a stronger writer than I could have imagined with new skill sets that enhance my professional portfolio.

As someone who has always loved writing, I hope it won’t be too hard for me to relate to students who may not enjoy it. Recalling my own school days, I know there were always some writing assignments that I didn’t find enjoyable or downright disliked, and I hope to minimize these assignments in my own classroom. Sometimes they’re necessary, but a lot of times they’re not. While in my classroom, I want my students to learn to write, but more importantly I want them to like to write. Some may argue that liking writing is not something that can be taught, but I think students can learn to enjoy writing if they are given the right assignments.
I personally do not enjoy writing like most people would feel about reading a dictionary. I am cautiously treading water with every word I type. I have always found writing to be a tedious process. I have never found ease in wording something the way I want to; therefore, it usually sounds so much better in my head. I’ve never considered myself to be comfortable with writing in general. For example, I always had a hard time telling if I needed a comma in a sentence or not. Sometimes it was obvious, but it seems more confusing most of the time.
Writing is an excellent practice because the benefits gained are essential to an individual’s success in a job, or just conveying their ideas through words. Within the semester we have written three major papers, and have rewritten two of those papers. In each paper I discovered new ways to get information, and have gained more experience in sculpting a paper. Obtaining this new knowledge of how to present my ideas in different writing styles will help me expand my range in how I can write, and essentially allow me to be better prepared for upcoming jobs following my college education. I can safely say that with the papers from this semester and their mistakes that dealt with minor grammar errors, awkward sentence structures, and oversimplifying
Throughout my school experience, reading and writing have been always a struggle for me. I did not like to read because I could not remember anything I read, and I did not like to write because what I wrote was unorganized. Reading also can help improve writing, but when I was younger, I was stubborn and not aware of that. I had no confidence and thought I was never going to achieve good grades in an English class. So I let my grades slip and with that I decided to not go to college after high school. A few years out of high school, I took courses and a course English to develop my skills as a writer. In the course, I learned a great deal and realized, finally, that it was my low confidence level that was affecting me negatively. Then, starting
