Global warming is one of the biggest problems facing our world today, that threatens to take away everything we have. our temperatures are slowly deliberately accumulating, and with that, our world is crumbling. Global warming is avoidable, but us humans need to take a step forward and hinder it. since the 1900s, our world evoked entering the era of industrialization, and global warming also suddenly erupted before anyone noticed. Global warming is permanent and cannot be reversed. We have to act now as a group and stop global warming before it is too late. Global warming has many negative effects. When people hear the term global warming, they usually think of all the countries being very hot and people getting heat strokes. However, that is not all of the effects of global warming. In the past years, glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes are breaking faster, and snowpack sizes in Antarctica and Greenland have decreased greatly. Plants and animals have also been affected in many pessimistic ways. Because of the change global warming has brought, plant and animal ranges have shifted. Trees and flowers are blooming earlier than usual because of global warming. Finally, there are more severe storms. The North Atlantic has shown increased hurricane intensity since the 1970’s. In Northern Europe, Eastern America, and parts of Asia have increased precipitation amounts. Droughts have become longer and more severe. Many areas are seeing bigger and more intense snow storms. Hurricanes nowadays have higher wind speeds than before, and finally, hurricanes stay stronger longer because of warming at the bottom of the ocean. Global warming is caused by many things. The main reason is because of too much carbon dioxide in the atmospher... ... middle of paper ... ...alk and use bikes. We would get exercise as well as where we have to go. Also, if cars are needed, buy one with a high milage. Scientists found ways for energy other than natural gas. People should use wind turbines, solar energy and other forms of renewable energy. Cars with batteries are invented so people should use cars that can be charged. These cars use a very little amount of gas and can be recharged. To conclude, Global warming is a problem that has to be addressed to the world properly and has to be stopped. There are other forms of energy to use other than natural gas. People have to stop burning fossil fuels and use the new methods for everything society depends on. When global warming reaches its peak, everything we have built upon for millions of years will be destroyed. If we all do our part, global warming will slowly fade away leaving nothing behind.
Global warming is a scientific, political, and controversial topic. Some believe it is catastrophic, a slow moving killer hiding in the shadows. Others do not even think twice about it as they race by in a Hummer. Global warming is the gradual increase of temperature throughout different climates. It is caused by the greenhouse gas effect in which greenhouse gases, like methane and carbon dioxide, reflect sunlight back and forth. This reflected ultraviolet light bounces between the earth and the ozone layer and becomes trapped, resulting in a gradual rise of temperature. Over time, the slow rise of temperature causes new climates throughout the globe. The article “What Megablazes Tell Us About the Fiery Future of Climate Change” by Tim Dickinson
Global warming is an increase of carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane disrupting the earth’s ecosystem ultimately causing climate changes, this is just one of the tradeoffs of the modern life we live. Some doubt that global warming is a real issue despite the increasing natural disasters, freak weather and populations of species becoming extinct. Global warming is one of the challenges that we are facing today, it is much like the climate changes faced in the past but our climate is changing more rapidly. Wi...
Global warming, by definition is the “ gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.”(Webster) In the last several decades, there have been numerous debates regarding global warming. As of now it has become one of the biggest problems facing the world today. Scientists do believe that our production of greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide is having a warming effect on the atmosphere, but it also is creating a positive impact to on the planet. The controversial side is scientific consensus that it is the fault of mankind that our actions have led to the results of earthquakes, tidal waves, geographical plates moving, all because of global warming pollution. The other side that is also debated on is that global warming can bring new developments to our planet and to all that dwell within. In this paper I will examine the positive and negative side of global warming and suggest some ways nature and humans are solving the issue. Global warming is causing the largest impact to nature and humanity in the 21st century, but with green house gases on the rise, humanity, nature, and species will learn to evolve.
“All across the world, in every kind of environment and region known to man, increasingly dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly putting an end to the long-running debate over whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real, it's here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man-made natural disaster” (Barack Obama, April 3, 2006). What could be causing these extreme weather patterns? Scientists say that it is the gradual increase of the temperature over the entire earth. Global warming is the increase in the average temperature all over the earth. Global Warming is a major problem in the world today and is argued among all of the world leaders. I am going to talk about how the global warming crisis is being caused. Also, what the people of the world can do to stop the acceleration of the global warming. There are people in the world that believe that there is another reason why this is happening; earth is experiencing a natural cycle of evolution. Global warming is a very serious part of the world and a solution needs to be found immediately.
The negative side of global warming is that it leads to melting of ice. The world's glaciers, especially Arctic glaciers are melting faster than new snow and ice can supplement them. During the melting of Arctic ice opens over the dark surface of the water or soil and balance change reflects less and absorb a greater amount of heat, therefore, large areas of ice melt rapidly (News, global warming). There is evidence, which will support this argument: scientists from the University of California in San Diego investigated satellite observation data for the Arctic for 1979-2011 years. Since the 1970s, the area covering of the ice has decreased by 40 % and the region has warmed up to 2 degrees (News global warming). It means, that global warming affects to the wildli...
Global warming directly effects everyone and everything on Earth. The concentration of greenhouse gasses is climbing at an alarming rate. Many negative issues will take place if nothing is done stop the destruction of the Earth's atmosphere. Humans, plants, and animals contribute to the cycle of life on earth. The extinction of plants and animals caused by global warming can lead to worldwide panic. The future flooding of the Earth is very possible if warming continues at this rate. Global Warming can be catastrophic if nothing is done. Global warming comes with a plethora of negative outcomes and we need to stop it.
The subject of global warming is as popular as the president. These both topics have always been hot subjects in everyday life. Global warming is the biggest storm headed in our way. It is also the most important issue of our times. Those ads or public service announcement on TV about global warming might not be the most attractive but the cause behind it is very important. Global warming is one of the major threats our planet is facing. Most scientists prove the fact that global warming is mainly caused by human activities rather than natural cycles. To simplify it, most mechanisms that we use are affecting earth. These mechanisms are created by humans. Therefore, humans are affecting earth.
Global warming is a topic that is constantly disregarded because the issue seems to small and irrelevant. However, people do not realize that global warming is time sensitive. Over the last 30 years, there has been an average increase of 1.5 Fahrenheit per year. Global warming has significantly gotten worse often the past years and there seems to be little to no action to prevent global warming. Through the increase in carbon dioxide levels and deforestation, it is evident that global warming is affecting us dramatically, suggesting that if we do not take action soon, we will be unable to live in such living conditions.
Global warming is the increasing temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere. In the last few decades this increase has been relatively significant. Global warming is the largest problem that the world will face in the twentieth century. This is going to require international attention and the cooperation from everyone, including the government.
Global warming is the rise in temperature of the world due to the greenhouse effect, caused by the carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Even people who consider global warming a false hypothesis must recognize that the amount of fossil fuel left in the world is limited. There are technologies in the world that can substitute fossil fuel such as solar panels and windmills. Global warming must be reduced if man is to survive. The United States should consider supporting green energy sources over fossil fuel sources, this could only be accomplished through political action, through education of the public and convincing those eighteen and older to vote for candidates that support green legislation.
Although some believe that Global Warming has been created due to manmade pollutants, I believe that Global Warming is a natural process that has been accelerated due to the excess emissions of pollutants from nature and manmade devices into the atmosphere. The world has been said to be on a cycle of global warming and cooling, this process can neither be stopped nor prevented, but it can be accelerated with the addition of non-natural emissions from automobiles and factories; because this is a natural process, even if constraints were to be put on the amount of pollutants released into the air global warming could not be prevented—it could only be slowed. When the inevitable happens and global warming occurs, there are many effects that our environment, and world, will receive—these effects can cause many different natural disasters that will affect the lives of humans, animals, and plants.
One of the hottest controversial topics right now is global warming, and it is only getting “hotter”. Everything about this topic is debated; how should we deal with it, what causes, and does it even exist?! First of all, global warming is the overall rise in the Earth’s temperature over time. These changes in temperature are happening more and more rapidly, and there is a clear reason why. That reason is us. Every second we emit about 2.4 million pounds of a harmful gas into the atmosphere. This dangerous gas is carbon dioxide (CO2), which is a gas we are casting out into the air through many of our daily activities and it is causing dangerous effects. While this effects are daunting, we are able to fix them. If we are willing to change. I
The world is getting hotter, and it is our fault! Global warming is the term given to the slow rise in the earth’s temperature over a long period of time, which happens when air polluting gasses like carbon dioxide and methane gases get trapped in the atmosphere making the atmosphere thick. The thick atmosphere prevents heat from escaping, which changes the earth’s temperature to a warmer climate. This warming has a negative impact on the earth and all that inhabit which makes it an environmental issue of global concern. While some may argue that global warming is not real, the earth is proving otherwise. Warmer temperatures are causing ice glaciers to melt, resulting in a rise in sea levels. Global warming is also causing a change in weather patterns, imposing devastating and unpredictable weather conditions on plants, animals, and humans. While global warming is caused partly by natural environmental occurrences out of our control, human activities are responsible the majority of global warming. The combustion of fossil fuels, chemical fertilizer use, methane emissions from factory farm animals, and deforestation are the main human activities that contribute to global warming.
Global Warming is a condition caused by greenhouse gases and human activities. The increased concentration of greenhouse gases due to activities such as deforestation and fossil fuel burning is causing the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans to warm up. As a result of this, global warming has some serious effects in the shape of extreme weather, species extinctions, and rising sea levels. These effects can contribute to the changes that are taking place all over the world, most of which are dangerous enough to pose a threat to the survival of life on Earth in the future.
As Robert Frost once said, “ Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire.” This excerpt can relate to the idea of global warming. Global warming can be defined as an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. During the past 10,000 years the earth has been in an ever-growing cycle that has significantly changed the climate. These changes are becoming more prevalent in our world today in the past 150 years. Scientists have been analyzing the causes and effects of the greenhouse effect and many other issues that global warming has presented. As John Houghton states in his book, Global Warming the Complete Briefing, on page 2 “ The 1980s and 1990s were unusually warm. Globally speaking, the decades have been the warmest since accurate records began somewhat over a hundred years ago and these unusually warm years are continuing into the twenty-first century.” There are countless records that show that our world as a whole is getting warmer, and the facts cannot be disputed. Everyone in the world today is experiencing the effects of global warming. These effects might be small now, but if we don’t protect our planet now then the consequences will greatly be increased.
