The history of how Britain came to dominate the world musically has been written time and time again. However, a brief outline won’t go amiss. In the 1950’s the majority of music Britain was churning out was mostly made up of carbon copies of American Rock & Roll, give or take the odd original here and there. But no matter how good these originals were, they still had a tough act to follow. It’s a pretty safe bet then, the onslaught of British groups across the globe certainly started in the early 1960s. Spearheaded by those four lads from Liverpool. Their overwhelming success and hope by some, that the mighty machine driven by a man, who practically knew very little about the music industry would suddenly crash. It would be a matter of years, not months that this would be the case. With all the attention on Liverpool, what was happening elsewhere in Britain was at this point going unnoticed.
