Breakfast represents the most important meal of the day. I chose this topic because I often forget to eat breakfast and I want to know why this is not a good practice. I already know that by eating breakfast I save myself from over indulgence later in the day. Breakfast is considered brain food because it gets me going in the morning. This information came to me from parents and previous teachers that tried to inform me that eating breakfast improves my grades. It excites me to learn more about how my body responds to a meal in the morning.
I need a better understanding of how breakfast affects my body and brain. If any negatives for eating breakfast exist, I want to find out what they are. Some negatives might consist of what not to eat for breakfast or when it is too late for breakfast. I also plan on learning what foods are healthy for breakfast. I imagine I will learn plenty of advantages, and yet some disadvantages of eating breakfast.
Many questions flood into my mind as I think about the importance of eating breakfast, but I will only start with a few. Curiosity fills me when I think about what I ought to eat for breakfast. What kinds of foods should I consume in the morning? I want to know how much of these foods I ought to eat. Other questions include; what parts of the body are affected by breakfast foods and how are these body parts affected? How does breakfast serve as ‘brain food’? When is a good time for eating breakfast and is it ever too late for breakfast? I hope to learn the answers to some of my many questions.

I acquired a lot of facts about eating breakfast. My original assumptions were quite accurate. I knew that skipping breakfast would lead to over indulgence at a later time. I learned many new things. Some new things I learned include how breakfast affects the body, the amount of teens that eat breakfast daily, and why most people skip the most important meal of the day. I was quite surprised by how the body’s metabolism is enhanced after eating in the morning. I am very thankful that I chose this topic because I now know why breakfast makes me healthier and I started eating breakfast more regularly. Now, I live a healthier life because I know how to start my day right.
