Globalization is not a new word for most of us. It has been popular for several years. The biggest winner may be the developing countries. On the other hand, developed countries are also benefit from globalization that they attract a great many talented people work for them.
However, everything has two sides. Globalization brings about some negative influence to many countries. At this time, sustainable development of globalization comes to people’s minds. Human beings hope sustainable development would make globalization work well for all countries and all people, reduce the loss, and avoid the bad impact.
From this survey, we will know the definition of sustainable development and the reasons why we should support sustainable development.
What is sustainable development? In fact, sustainable development has several characteristics: balance natural system and manmade system; deal with the issue of immigration well; balance the richer and the poor; at last, oil and gas producers have future.
In the article, "Is Ethics the Missing Link? ," Yolanda Kakabadse argues that sustainable development is both natural systems and manmade systems are developed well, and human beings could benefit from them in lots of aspects for a long time. Kakabadse, a conservationist from Ecuador, also says that economic globalization on the one hand brings about advantages to most nations, but on the other hand, the benefits are imbalanced. At the same time, international trade and markets have destroyed the environment.
From Pew Global Attitudes Project, it gives us the characteristic of sustainable development in economic: deal with the issue of immigration well. In the article, “World Publics Welcome Global Trade – But Not Immigration,” it a...

Our global world is being more connected as we become integrated politically, socially and even economically. Due to the Bretton woods agreement, different countries have been economically dependent on each other in fear for war to erupt. From then on different organizations and policies tied more countries into being economic globalized. This economic globalization had then given us many opportunities in trades and more access to natural resources in other countries. Unfortunately, there are some negative effects that are brought to less developed country. Overall, many people believe that economic globalization does a great work on accumulating our economy and our quality of life.
Globalization helps many people achieve greatness. But for the majority it brings hardships and struggle. People will be plagued by the effects of globalization and will have a tough time over coming it. We are far from reaching a point where we can say we have sustainable prosperity throughout our world. But before we focus in on sustaining prosperity, we must first reach prosperity and bring it to all corners or the earth.
While many imperfections still show on the overwhelming change that is globalization, there has been a strong amount of positive development that the world has gone through. Through the means of free trade and utilizing foreign markets globalization spreads to new corners of the world seeking new countries to innovate and grow.
In fact it is not as easy as that enables us to judge of globalization in one world. It is very complex and has many different aspects. I can say that globalization is a double edged sword and the judgment of people vary according to their beliefs and attitudes. In this research I focused on the positive aspect which led to support the trading and economy, develops the industries plus reduces the poverty rate and enhances the level of living dramatically. As it creates new opportunities for people which leads in result to participate in building societies and world as a whole. Regarding the negative aspect I will just mention the spy programs and
According to the International Institute for Sustainable Development, sustainable development is defined as development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. If we follow this definition, it becomes easy to see that the vast majority of the “developed” world has not, and is not developing sustainably. The idea of sustainable development requires us to consider how our action of developing will affect other countries, and future generations. Many people believe in “the butterfly effect”, where the flapping of a butterfly’s wings in one part of t...
Globalization contributes to sustainable prosperity for all people by trading, supplying jobs and minimum standard for education. Trading keeps peace between countries and gives us what we want and need in life. Sharing ideas helps us connect with each other and when we share ideas and put our minds together great things come from it. Supplying jobs helps poverty stricken people in different parts of the world make a good living and it benefits for both parties. And minimum standards for education so people in less developed countries may see better education.
Despite the fact that there are some negative impacts, the positive aspects of the globalization outweigh the negative aspects economically, technologically, and environmentally. Globalization has brought benefits to people such as job opportunities, better technological inventions, and having multicultural societies. It seems the whole world had become more united with each other better because communication has been easier and quicker. People are aware of what is going on around the world. Even though people cannot deny the fact that there are serious social and environmental problems happening around the globe, globalization helps people to cooperate with each other. Looking at how globalization changes the history of human, people are capable of accomplishing a lot of things. Everything rapidly changes, and no one know what is going to happen next. All the problems that might seem unsolvable would not be threats in the future because people are aware of
Sustainable development is, in its simplest the survival of the planet Earth. Sustainable development meets the demands of today’s society without limiting the ability of future generations to meet their own demands. First, the basic needs of the world...
Sustainable Management are referred to the protection of the environment under the conditions of both meet the needs of modern people, but also without the prejudice to the needs of future generations for the forward-looking development model. Sustainable Management has three different areas: the needs of the modern and future generations, the environment, and the economy. By using these areas, limiting the resource depletion to reinforce the needs of present and future generation to create the ability of a systems of vigorous development.
Sustainable development can be defined in many ways though the latest definition taken from the Bruntland report, defining sustainable development as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It contains two key concepts; (1) the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world’s poor, to which overriding priority should be given and (2) the idea of limitations imposed by the state of technology and social organisation on the environments ability to meet present and future needs.”
Globalization is the increasing interconnectedness of people, places, and cultures throughout the world today. The effects of this homogenizing process that we call globalization can be seen in all aspects of life. From McDonalds being in almost every country, to the majority of North American clothes being made in periphery countries, to the technological ability that allows us to instantly communicate with people anywhere in the world, the effects are everywhere. Economically today, globalization has had both positive and negative effects around the world, with many similarities to colonization. Globalization has also led to increased poverty amongst the global periphery, and a specific group of winners and losers within this process of globalization.
Globalization is a global process that is changing the world. I would also like to discuss what are the benefits and drawbacks of globalization in the world from different perspectives.
Sustainability development has three components: environment, society, and economy. If you consider the three to be overlapping circles of the same size, the area of overlap in the center is human well-being. As the environment, society, and economy become more aligned, the area of overlap increases, and so does human well-being. Therefore, education for sustainable development (ESD) is the use of education as a tool to achieve sustainability. Simply put, ESD is a way to make the world a safer, healthier, and more livable place for us and future generations (McKeown, 2002, pgs 7-9).
We all know the urbanization rate is an index to value the development of a country. However, though urbanization provides great convenience to some individuals, it also brings about negative effects. Problems such as pollution, overcrowded and the high unemployment appear during the process of urbanization and they are hard to cope with. In face of the sequence of problems, a new way of development ----sustainable development was put forward. Just like its literal meaning, the word sustainability has something to do with continuity. It was used since 1980s and first appeared in Britain law in 1993. Sustainable development can help solve parts of the problem caused by urbanization, including environmental damage, overuse of resources, and natural disasters.
Globalization has been a start of a new modernized era in history. The source states that as an individual you are given prosperity, stability, and also predictability, and also points out that it helps developing countries modernize and catch up with developed countries, and also reduce poverty since new businesses are formed allowing more employment in the country due to the subsidies that wealthier countries give to them. The person who wrote this source is a pro globalist, and has probably experienced the prosperity that was given to them because of the global trading system. His perspective on globalization suggests that globalization is the key to advancing technology, good relations between countries, and is beneficial event in history. One should embrace the global economy as it creates many roads to achieve your goals in your life, and also for the weaker countries that needs support, but to a degree that the government can intervene with the market.
