Avocado is originated in southern Mexico before coming to California in 19th century. In the past Avocado was introduced by Judge RB, Ord of Santa Barbara when he brought a tree from Mexico. Moreover, “Avocados were unfamiliar to most Americans until the mid-1900s, when growers of the subtropical fruit successfully convinced many Americans to try it”. More and more farmers as well as growers in California in 1900s saw the potential of Avocado for commercial activities and since then, many Avocados have been hunted for its varieties.

The first reason why we should name Avocado as the state fruit of California is cultivation.
California is the third largest state in the US in terms of area after Alaska and Texas. Its climate are mostly cool, rainy in the winter and hot, dry in the summer. Those climate conditions are very suitable for avocado which specifies as a dense and green tree. In California, avocado can easily reach its flushes due to the warm and sunny weather.

Spain is in the southwestern part of Europe and to the east of the Mediterranean Sea. There are a large variety of fruits and vegetables grown in Spain. Food From Spain lists peaches, cherries, ioquats, apricots, nectarines, plums, apples, pears, grapes, wheat, and olives as fruits grown in Spain. There are also many others, but these specific fruits are only from Spain. A Melocoton de Calanda is a Spanish peach found in northeastern Spain. Cerezas de la Montana de Alicante is a sweet red cherry found in the jerte Valley in Extremadura of Spain. Ioquats are sweet, slightly acidic, and have a strong leathery skin. Certain types of apricots, nectarines, and plums also come from Spain. Apples from Asturias, Castile-Leon, and Catalonia of northern Spain are “generally considered superior (foodfromspain).” Pears are originally from Asia Minor, but grow well in inland Spain. Grapes, wheat, and olives play a major role in Spanish cuisine as well. Grapes are used for wine and oil. Olives are in abundance and are eaten and used for oil. Olive oil serves many uses in Spanish cuisine.

I will examine the importation of tomatoes from Mexico and the social and economic impact it has on the indigenous people involved in its production. I shall also examine the logistics required for it to reach American consumers and the everyday importance of this commodity in the daily lives of Americans.
It originates from Medellin, which is located in the Antioquia region. It is a plate made up of rice, ground meat, pork rinds, plantains, fried eggs, chorizo, arepa, avocado and red beans. In this dish one can see the history of Colombia. For instance the pork rinds and chorizo came from the Spanish conquistadors. The avocado came from the Brazilians. The chorizo, pork rinds, and plantain are all fried in oil, a cooking method taught by the African slaves. In addition, one can see how the region influenced the dish as it has red beans, a food that is well known in the Antioquia region where Ls Bandeja Paisa originated from. In conclusion, one can learn a lot about a culture through its food and

To begin with, According to Newsdeeply, after four years of historic water shortages, farm earnings in the state increased 16 percent, and total employment increased 5 percent. What is the first thing that comes to mind when citrus is brought up? Citrus has been a part of Florida’s History for nearly 400 years. Citrus trees were brought to Florida from the island of Hispaniola around the year 1579 (Joyner 3). A Spanish explorer named Ponce de Leon planted them in St. Augustine, the oldest European settlement in the United States (Joyner 3). This was the first place to have citrus because of the rich soil, easy seaport, and the right temperature to produce a successful crop.
Was it grown locally? How was it grown? Were chemicals used? Eating locally promotes the health of the consumer. Michael Pollan and Richie Chevat, author of The Omnivore's Dilemma, stated, “No fossil fuels or added fertilizer or chemicals needed” (148). Since there is nothing being added to the animals’ diet or their pastures, their meat is more nutritious because they are eating the nutrients that they need through, not a corn-fed diet and a condensed living area like a CAFO farm does. Julia Vogel, author of the book, Local Farms and Sustainable Foods, said, "It takes a lot of human-made chemicals, plus fuel energy, to keep the produce looking perfect while it's shipped" (Vogel 6). Since the food isn't grow naturally, but instead chemicals that were created and used by us, which are abundantly poor for the environment, but also the consumer. When people think about the food they eat, us as consumers need to think about what is is made of and where how it was made. If a fruit has no bruises, chances are it was created with chemicals, and if is does have a bruise, chances are that it was grown in a natural environment. One organization that would disagree with this is McDonald’s as well as a CAFO farmer. Pollan says, “These animals have evolved to eat grass. But at a CAFO, they are forced to eat corn-at considerable cst to their health, to the health of the land, and ultimately to the health
California is a different kind of state. It is one of the largest states and is known for being one of the most diverse states along with being one of the most populous states in America as well. With all these factors coming into play with California, it is not unlikely that California’s politics is in for a wild journey.
California was an exciting place to experience knowing that I could go to all of these ecosystems in one trip. Driving down the interstate you could see these gigantic mountains above the city of Fresno. Also one thing I noticed was how much of California is actually just farm land. The view above the plane was full of fields that were in perfect squares for farming. Realizing this I was actually shocked because I never knew how much of California is actually used for farming. Usually in movies you see, that are based in California, there are beaches and an ocean. Being in the western United States for the first time I was surprised also by how much desert there actually is. I’ve always heard people mess around and call California the land of “Fruit and Nuts” but it’s actually true. California leads the country in producing most of nuts in America and some fruits like strawberries and
Agave tequilana is used due to its high inulin concentration, low fiber content, and abundance of chemical compounds that contribute to tequila’s final taste and flavor. This species of agave grows best in the areas surrounding the city of Tequila because climate and soil conditions are ideal: 3-47 Co (optimal temperature of 26 Co), annual rainfall of 800-900 mm yearly and fertile soil of shallow depth (30 to 40 centimeters) (2,3). Additionally, agaves grown in the highlands region have a sweeter aroma and taste than the lowlands regions, which have an herbaceous flavor and odor (4).
Two native names for the avocado are still used in America. The nahuatel term was "ahua-cacua-huitle" from which other Central American names like ahuacatl (which is the common Aztec idiom) alcuahte and aquacate have been either derived or shortened. Corruptions of the original name include "abacata" (Portugese) and "alligator" (English) pear. In South America the fruit is called "Palta" derived from the Indian tribe of Ecuador inhabiting the province Palta.
The fruits of citrus plants are known to grow on evergreen trees in subtropical areas worldwide that produce fruits with a variety of colors and shapes. Cross sections of the fruit show several identifiable layers. The outermost skin or rind, which normally exhibits a bright yellow or orange color, is the endocarp or flavedo. The endocarp protects the fruit from damage while secreting essential oils that give the fruit its characteristic odor (UNCTAD 2014). A white, spongy tissue known as the mesocarp (albedo) forms the second layer; it makes up the peel of the fruit and is typically removed before consumption (UNCTAD 2014)....
