Happiness. Most people yearn to be happy. If people are not happy, what good is life? Without happiness, people are not living their lives the way they want to. Happiness is a way for people to discover their true identity. Working at something that does not make a person happy is pointless because they will have no enjoyment doing what they are doing, and no motive to continue. Since it is needed to do anything properly, happiness is extremely important. Happiness is a key part of most people's lives because without its presence, people will never be satisfied with their lives, realize who they are as an individual, or accomplish anything substantial.
Without happiness, people might not be living their lives the way they yearn to. This is a prominent part of the book Anthem. Prometheus, the protagonist, was not happy in his life because he was forced to live uniformly to everyone else. He did not enjoy it and this is known because when he starts to do something he takes pleasure in and that is different from everyone else, he discovers true happiness. "We seized their body and we pressed our lips to theirs. We stood together for a long time. And we were frightened that we had lived for twenty one years and had never known what joy is possible to men" (Rand 83). This quote shows that Prometheus was not happy in his life before he went to the uncharted forest. Before he left, he was not able to speak to, let alone kiss a woman. Now that he is living his life the way he yearns to, Prometheus understands true happiness through kissing the Golden One.
If people are not happy, they might be conforming to their society and therefore will never discover their identity.

...shed a great feat and ended up creating a new invention. If he would have not enjoyed creating the lightbulb, Prometheus would have had no motivation to continue, no matter how difficult it got, and would have never created such a prodigious advancement for his society.
Without happiness, most people can not accomplish anything in life. Happiness rules the lives of many individuals. Everyone needs happiness to live an enjoyable life. This is known because many people spend their lives searching for a fountain of happiness. Without a source of happiness, people will be unsatisfied with their lives, be uniform to others, and not accomplish anything substantial. If everyone aims to be happy in life and strives to attain true happiness, the world would be a better place and many achievements would be made.

Before we look into specifics, we’ll examine the history and development of “happiness” as a philosophy. Of course, the emotion of happiness has always existed, but it began to be seriously contemplated around 2,500 years ago by philosophers like Confucius, Buddha, Socrates and Aristotle. Shortly after Buddha taught his followers his Noble Eight Fold Path (which we will talk about later), Aristotle was teaching that happiness is “dependent on the individual” (Aristotle).
Suppose I started this off automatically with a clear definition over what happiness really is. It would result in a highly unlikely answer simply because everyone’s perspective on happiness would be different and could not be accounted to be true for everyone. According to Jane Kenyon’s poem, Simon Critchley’s critique, Douglas Preston’s encounter with the famous religious and political figure Dalai Lama, and Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi’s theory, each hold a different view on what happiness really means and why it is such a concern to people.
From the beginning of his life, Prometheus was different from his brothers. He recalls living in the Home of the Infants, and fighting with his brothers, a transgression which was repeated so often, that out of all the children of his year, he was locked in the cellar the most. During the time period in which he lived in the Home of the Students, he was constantly chastised, demoralized, and ostracized for his ability to comprehend things faster than those of his brothers. He was told by his teachers that it “…is a great sin, to be born with a head which is too quick. It is not good to be different from our brothers, but it is evil to...
A lot of people wonder what true happiness really is if they will ever experience true happiness. If you ask a person, what is true happiness, everyone will have different happiness. True happiness is not only found in one place and it is not always found in the same place for everyone. In Fahrenheit 451 Montag thought that he was happy when in reality he was not even in love with Mildred and neither was he happy. This is proven when Clarisse puts the dandelion under his chin. True Happiness can be not worrying about anything and letting loose without a care in the world. It can also mean freedom, even spending time with loved ones and family.
If this were the case, people would be dazed and confused as to why the road to happiness is tough and why they still have not found it. Setting happiness as life’s objective leads the individual off the beaten path and set the individual further back than where they started. The only solution to a person’s craving for happiness, is not to dig around for happiness itself but to scour for individual fulfillment. What separates the road to happiness and the road to fulfillment, is that by the end of reaching fulfillment, you are left with a plethora of reward. What comes with fulfillment is happiness, success, and
It is a common thought that happiness is key to a successful life, and many try to find out how to achieve the
Happiness is something most humans value above everything else. The various things in life that make us happy, such as family, friends, and cool cars, to name a few, are the very things we hold dearest to us and place the most value on. People fill their lives with things that please them to ease the gloom that comes as a result of the seemingly never-ending trials and tribulations of life. We gladly accept any amount of pleasure we can extract from the monotony of our daily lives, and we will do almost anything to achieve happiness.
Happiness can be understood as the moral goal of life or can be unpredictable and is something we create from ourselves and by ourselves. The idea of happiness was known as something we nurture on our own and is a state of emotion. Completing our everyday goals will soon bring us happiness, which seems to be very important to most humans and is what makes life worth living, but this is not certain. This conception of Eudemonia was common in ancient Greece as it is currently today. Aristotle had what he thought was an ideal activity for all those who wanted to live life to the fullest, be happy, and have purpose.
Happiness is a psychological term that is hard to define since it is particular to each individual. However, we can define it as a psychological sense of life satisfaction, pleasure, and positive emotional condition. For some people, it is difficult to achieve happiness. In contrast, other people can find happiness in the simplest things. However, remember that happiness is in our hands. Just keep seeking it and we will finally be
On the contrary, a main reason why we struggle to find happiness is the fact that we are often blinded from its true definition, and convinced to seek it in places where it can’t be found. In today’s society, false pictures of what this concept really means have been painted in our minds by outside sources. One of the major causes of these fabricated characterizations is blamed on the media. When we watch the television and see someone who is well known walking around in a suit with a supermodel next to his side, we jump to the conclusion that he is a happy person. But, that isn’t always the case. Fame and fortune do not automatically guarantee happiness. It is such an intangible subject that it makes it hard for someone to fully grasp its true concept.
Happiness can come in different forms for each person. Some people dream of achieving great wealth to buy everything they ever wanted. Others may find simple tasks such as, reading a book, to make them happy. There are people who find happiness by making others happy, whether it’d be, feeding the homeless, or giving random compliments to strangers. I think that most people would agree that the purpose of life is happiness. There are several things that bring happiness to my world, which include, family, health, and laughter, among other things. Accomplishments can also bring happiness to people, which is what many people strive for during their lives. It can be a promotion, diploma, house, etc. It is usually something that is challenging,
I believe that happiness is the key to living a good and prosperous life. Through all of the sadness and hate in the world, happiness gives me hope. It gives not only me, but others hope and joy. Happiness gives us something to hold onto, therefore we cherish it as much as we can.
Everybody wants to be happy. Parents want their children to have a happy childhood and a happy life, people wish newlyweds a happy married life, and when someone passes on, they say, “S/he had a happy life,” as if that is comforting to those who are already missing the person and who are very unhappy. Why is happiness so important to people? Perhaps it is because humans are competitive by nature and one person exaggerates his/her happiness so that others are envious. Maybe it is because humans like to be distracted by a story and if they can believe someone actually achieves perfect happiness, then they can hold out hope for themselves. What is happiness exactly? No one knows because everyone defines it differently. In general though, happiness is an overall feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. If that is the case, then happiness seems easy enough to achieve, but whether humans are actually capable of realizing they are in the state of happiness though is another issue.
Happiness, what is it, and why do we strive to achieve it so persistently? Happiness in some points of view is portrayed as the state that is derived from self-awareness of a benefiting action or moment taking place. What of the moments that are not beneficial? Can a person still find moments of happiness and success in discord, a little glimmer of light shining from the deep recesses of our own consciousness? Plucking it from a mere moment, achieved from money, or is it so much more, happiness is the precipice that all strive to gain to better perceive their success. As a person lives, they are in a constant struggle to be happy. For instance, even the United States Constitution makes reference to the idea that every person has the inalienable right to pursue happiness. This was the resulting outcome of the enlightenment from France, spilling out into the rest of the world from 1650 through 1800. This revolutionized the idea that every single person has the inalienable right to happiness or in different views the right to succeed. As to how one peruses or conjures their happiness that is an entirely different concept and completely up to their preferred preference, but it is something that a person needs to find on their own for true success.
...e way. Apart from success, good health and longevity are associated with happiness. The lightheartedness that accompanies happiness has been said to lower the chance of strokes and heart attacks. Laughter releases tension and add to persons overall sense of well-being. Happiness is not death, or sorrow. It is not gloom, depression or heavy-heartedness. Happiness does not lament nor does it worry. It is neither moody nor pensive, neither wanton nor pessimistic. Happiness does not mourn for what was it instead rejoices in what will be. Happiness comes through good fortune and through loving and being loved. Eating a good meal, being in good health and enjoying the comforts of life can also achieve it. The simple pleasures of life bring happiness, whether it be enjoying a favorite dessert, smelling a rose or running in the rain.
