To a great degree the eminent problem is the air pollution we breathe. Who can help amend the air we breathe. In order to improve the quality of the air, people have to be aware of the specific mode of pollution and the effect of it. The traffic-pollution causes affliction and distress to individuals. The reason for this tragedy is due in part by every one of us. High concentration of vehicle exhausts is the main source of air pollution in urban areas. Neighborhoods in proximity to heavy traffic areas can negatively impact a community’s health conditions and outcomes. Those people that are disproportionately exposed to great levels of exhaust fumes are those who have a low socioeconomic and educational status and are part of race/ethnicity groups. If measures were taken to reduce automobile traffic pollution the prevalence of chronic cardiovascular disease, respiratory symptoms and adverse maternal outcomes would decrease and fewer people would have unfavorable health conditions. There is a growing consensus that environmental pollutants in urban areas is a problem and health disparities among the disadvantaged inhabitants needs to be addressed in efforts to eliminate health inequities.
Vehicles are the main source of air pollution. The following pollutants together are associated with emission are: Carbon monoxide co), Nitrogen Dioxide no2), Sulfur dioxide so2) and particulate matter (PM). Separately, any of these pollutants are understood or assumed to cause adverse health effects. Increases in air pollution are associated with increases in heart attacks, deteriorating respiratory function and increased premature births rates. Information on air quality In the era of serious concerns about the quality of health outcome, more fo...

Although ambient air pollution has decreased over the past several decades due to stringent air pollution control policies, there has been little evidence directly supporting the extent these control measures have improved public health (Tonne, et al, 2010). Investigative research has observed evidence to support the association of air pollution and particulate matter with increased cardiovascular events.
When we think of air pollution we think of the refineries in our cities and the exhaust coming from our cars mostly. In reality there are many more pollutants that we don't think about every day. The six most common air pollutants are; “Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides, Sulphur oxides, Particulate matter, Volatile organic compounds, and Ground-level ozone (nitrogen oxide and Volatile organic compounds reaction)”(David Suzuki Foundation). The fact is people are dying from air pollution and we are doing nothing to make it better, in fact air pollution is getting worse.
Social determinants of cardiovascular diseases are found largely outside the healthcare systems, social factors of cause-and-effect work with traditional risk factors within the health care system to determine ones overall health.
Air pollution has become a significant problem in the US as well as the world over years. It’s the result of variety of sources like industrial, agriculture, mechanical and transportation. Sadly, transportation which releases a great amount of carbon dioxides, nitrogen oxides and other toxicity is proven the leading cause of air pollution. There are several transportation factors that contribute to air pollution in the US.
Heathy People 2020 emphasized that social determinants play an important role in the health of an individual. Examples of social determinants include availability of resources to meet daily needs, transportation options, access to mass media and emerging technologies, or exposure to physical hazards and toxic substances. For example, unsanitary housing is associated with exposures to mold, moistures, dust mites, or even lead. Places that are absent of sidewalks, bike paths, or recreational areas can discourage physical activity for some communities. As a result, these conditions in different settings can affect a person’s quality of life. Poor health outcomes are often corresponding to the interaction between people and their physical or social environments. For that reason, policies and interventions are implemented to ensure a healthier
Air pollution has been one of the greatest concerns this millennial. The majority of the focus regarding air pollution has been on its effects on the environment and how it contributes to climate change. It can be easy to overlook the effect it has on the human body. In Resitoglu’s article that was written about his research study it says, “The World Health Organization estimated that around 2.4 million people die every year due to air pollution” (16). Out of the many different sources of air pollution, diesel exhaust is one of the most devastating pollutants to the human body. Scientific research has confirmed that the chemicals contained in diesel exhaust are more harmful than the chemicals
Air pollution is a silent killer, it lurks through our homes and surprises. There are designated agencies that are made to help combat pollution, setting regulations and making laws to protect the environment. Whether it is regulating car pollution, equipment or providing information to be better aware of increasing levels of pollution. Cars are a huge factor in air pollution, might not be the whole pie, but they’re a portion of the problem.
Pollution destroying our planet, this is greatly due to the emissions from cars. The continuation of car usage will eventually hurt the ozone layer even more, as a result, the environment will be damaged. This is a worldwide issue that concerns many, including President Obama and his “ambitious goals to curb the United Sates’ greenhouse gas emissions” (Source 4). Paris is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Robert Duffer stated in the article “Paris bans driving due to smog”, that “After days of near-record pollution, Paris enforced a partial driving ban to clear the air of the global”. This city spent “five days of intensive smog” (Source 4), which eventually rivaled “Benjamin and China, Known as the most polluted cities”. This pollution greatly impacted the environment in a damaging manner, this was because the emissions of cars were trapped in “the warmer layer of air”. After a few days, “the smog cleared enough” (Source 2), but the damage was already done. This shows how car emissions can impact the environment negatively, and the importance of reducing the usage of cars.
Central idea: The involvement of technology has change the Earth’s atmosphere, it is important to understand how can air pollution in the community, and how it involves with the emissions of vehicles.
I hope this essay points out the view why air pollution is bad for our health. It causes so many respiratory problems and not only that the dangerous toxicity of the gasses that we’re exposed to everyday is killing us. Studies have shown the connection between pollutants such as ozone and sulfate have increased the number of asthma attacks. Some have said that pollution is good and when we need it sustain life on Earth. Studies also show a connection between short-term exposure and increased visits to emergency departments and hospital admissions for respiratory illnesses, particularly in at-risk populations including children, the elderly, and increasing the number of asthma attacks. The probability of having an asthma attack varies on how much due to exposure of air pollution.
One of the most dangerous environment issues Southern California is facing today is air pollution. This includes the burning of fossil fuels and natural disasters. Los Angeles is one of the most polluted cities in the world, and the most polluted city in the United States. I will research information about the causes, the effects, and the history of air pollution in the Los Angeles. For my research, I have relied mostly on, the school’s database and library, as well as current events.
The children were followed for up to 8 years and the results of the study provided robust evidence that “lung development… from the ages of 10 to 18 years, is reduced in children exposed to higher levels of ambient air pollution” (Gaudermna, 2004). The GALA II and SAGE II studies of early-life air pollution and asthma risks in minority children led by UCSF (University of California, San Francisco) observed of 5,000 participant from Chicago, Bronx, Houston, San Francisco and Puerto Rico from 2006 to 2011. The results of these studies showed that African American and Latino infants living in communities with poor air quality due to traffic-related pollutant are more likely to develop childhood asthma (Thakur,
Air pollution is a very large problem in bigger cities around the United States of America. In Los Angeles people are at the highest risk of death due to air pollution. Among the most populated areas of the country, Los Angeles had the highest estimated rate of deaths attributable to air pollution. (The Huffington Post 2014) New York City is another huge city that is highly polluted. The death rate due to air pollution is a little smaller in New York than Los Angeles but it is still a huge health risk in New York. Air pollution in New York City is a significant environmental threat which contributes to an estimated 6% of...
As Dr. Sunyer Said in his article: "It is believed that much like cystic fibrosis, by living in a more urban environment serious health hazards become more apparent. Studies have shown that in urban areas patients suffer mucus hyper secretion, lower levels of lung function, and more self-diagnosis of chronic bronchitis and emphysema".( Sunyer, 2001).That's mean air pollution is harmful impact on human health and cases many diseases like: Cardiovascular disease, Lung disease and Cancer Which increases the mortality rate. So, Millions have died because of the direct or indirect effects of air pollution. Thant children in areas prone to air pollutants typically suffer from pneumonia and asthma. In addition, air pollution is effect the Atmosphere that main it is one of the indirect effects of global warming with high temperatures all over the world and increase the melting of ice and increase the rate of sea level there will be a disaster is imminent , if not take the necessary actions.
Global warming is one of the issues that we face today and pollution are one of the reasons this issue is occurring. Since cars were invented it has been a big influence on human’s lifestyle and society. We depend on this source of transportation because theses cars transport us from point A to point B wherever we need to go these cars allow us to reach our destination. But this form of transportation is harming the earth. With a number of cars and heavy duty trucks that are being driven on a daily base, it is releasing carbon monoxide, which is gasoline and is causing air pollution. Ending this contamination is not only important to saving our planet but is also helping people with their health, which is depending on
