As we grow up, many things will happen in our life, and most of them are unexpected. We should face all the obstacles in front of us and pass them. For me, I have many challenges in my life, and I think the most difficult challenge I am facing is studying abroad. I would like to show how I now live abroad and more about my study in UNL. After I finished my secondary school, my parents decided to let me study in an international high school. One reason is that I did not do well on the final exam in secondary school and also they thought going abroad was better for me. So I attended the international high school in my local city. In there, I met many friends and several of them came to UNL with me. My classmates and I all get along well with
Looming obstacles in the life of an individual serve as molds which instill perseverance, hard work in an individual's identity and bring hope for the future.
It is true that obstacles in life are uncomfortable and unsupportable experiences, but if we would learn to look at the bright sides of problems, keep seeking opportunities, manage situations and learn from failures then the difficulties that we face in our life would turn out for the better not only in the present but also in the
In staging reality, setting is critical for both Chad and Undine’s performances. In expatriate fiction, Europe is associated with more freedom than Puritanical America and is used as a medium for performers to present and explore both themselves and cultural and social differences between their home in America and abroad. In Going Abroad, William Stowe suggests that Europe is a space in which higher class and non-essential laborers can “prepare for or advance their careers” (Stowe 7). As a continent with a vast collection of cultural goods, Europe conflicts with the barren American landscape. Acquiring a “Europeanized” persona helps Undine and Chad to gain experience that they employ at home, and cultural accumulation provides an advantage
Imagine only paying for transportation, meals, supplies, room, board for college, and small college fees. This is exactly what other countries like Germany and Sweden are doing. Instead of having students pay an enormous amount for their education, these countries only require an individual to pay for their own basic needs with a small tuition fee as well. It is no surprise that students from the U.S are traveling overseas to get these benefits. In the meantime, colleges in the U.S have only become more expensive each year, and it’s greatly affecting graduating high school students since each student has to find a way to pay for his or her college tuition. The college graduates are then affected because they have to pay for the outrageous debt
Throughout the entirety of my life I always have and always will face obstacles: I am a girl, I am African-American, I have a disabled brother, I have a single parent. Though these aspects of my life have created challenges, I am proud of who I am and I love my life. These challenges have molded my character and shaped me to be the person I am today and without these obstacles, I might not have been as driven to succeed, despite what has happened in my life that may have caused me to
As J. Daniel Hess writes in his book, Studying Abroad/Learning Abroad, reflection on our actions is one of the most difficult things that a foreigner does. He writes, “How does one effectively grasp the meaning of a critical event and the essence of a new culture, understanding it in sufficient depth not only to appreciate its dynamic complexities but also to function comfortably as a participant.” These questions were always in my mind especially as I was by myself. In hindsight I may have tread too carefully in some areas. Hess describes the difference between the theory-application model, and the action-reflection-response model. Hess encouraged all intercultural travelers to learn by reflecting on past event rather than simply reading
The obstacles which we must face are not there to hinder our daily life. They are there to provide countless opportunities to obtain greater success. In order to be successful we must look at every obstacle as a new opportunity.
What are the advantages to studying an undergraduate degree and how do you think the successful completion of your degree will help you in your life?
In conclusion, we learn in life we have to face these challenges in each accomplishment to give us a sense of unity through our family members. In life, we have to go through these challenges everyday and some days it will be easy and some days it will not but as long as we have our friends, family and friends to point us to the right direction we can achieve basically anything we want too. Life there will be things that will hurt us or we can't be able to due, but we will soon overcome all these challenges in life and it will open a new doors for us.
Through out a student college experience, there will be obstacles to overcome. I will highlight several barriers that students have to overcome and I will highlight two barriers that relate to me.
I haven’t faced adversity that was so great, I needed an expert skill to come over it. I of course have faced smaller adversities, but I do know that they will arise and I will need the necessary skills throughout my high school years and my entire life to take care of them. I will take opportunities in high school to resolve and cope with adversity. Of course now I don't know what I will do because there will be a whole array of problems and issues and I won’t know what I will need to do. One adversity example I can think would be that I am struggling in a class the import test is coming up, and I am bound to fail it. If I was in this situation, I would first schedule times to go and study, then try to get another classmate to help me study. Even now I find this technique to work quite well.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement? Not to sound supercilious but I feel like I have had to answer this question a number of times, I just never seem to have the right answer. But what comes to mind as the greatest challenge I have had to face is a particularly difficult class I took a year ago. When I say difficult I don’t mean the subject matter of the class rather I mean the interactive part of the class. This class pushed me to my limits, am not a loner nor am I a social butterfly, but I had to get rid of my inhibitions if I wanted a good grade in the class. It helped me break out of my shell, I had to learn to interact with virtual strangers and make a good impression while doing so. But the most challenging aspect of the class was writing a reflection essay that included what you felt during an assignment and your impressions on the people you met, this difficult for me because I am not one who expresses emotion well and being able to tell what a person is feeling is not my forte. I am proud to say though that after a few ups, downs and roundabouts I was finally able to put on paper what I felt on the inside. long after the class was over I realized how useful the ability to write down what you feel is, it makes you connect better with your audience and makes the audience feel like they are reading about a person they can
It is fantastic to establish independence in a foreign country. However, most of my relatives believed that living in a foreign country would definitely be difficult. Fortunately, I did not agree with them. I thought I had to have some guts and confront my life matters. Subsequently, I became a twenty-two-year-old international student who has been living in the United States with full independence for five years. This will always be my unforgettable experience since I am having the opportunity to gain the best education from a sophisticated country, which is the USA. Indeed, we all have different aims in our lives that need to be achieved. I know this is true because being a married international student means that I need to accomplish my
In our place here in Tonsuya, only few can afford to study in the private school. I came from a private school that’s why some of the kid’s here who were at my age or a few years younger than me are feeling awkward when I approached them, they were like “ bakit ako nilalapitan nito?” or “ nako taga private school yan” and I feel sad about it because I want to make friends with them but they don’t want because maybe they feel small whenever I approach them, that’s why when I was a kid I used to play alone by myself. Most of my cousins also study at the public school that’s why whenever there are reunions we make them feel comfortable and not degraded, our parents thought us that we must not discriminate others despite of what they are in the society; all of us are created equally by God.
However, some hosts may be uncomfortable with the idea of others using their home and there are also security issues.
