Today we currently live in a world that is constantly changing and advancing due to the many beneficial inventions of technological advancements, especially in the wide-ranged field of different molecular genetics. Scientists are always discovering and implementing new ways to help benefit society and our future generation through enhanced food products. Consumers should be informed of how these foods are becoming a great help to those in need. Genetically modified foods should be perceived as an advantage to either the producer or consumer of these foods through a lower price, posssibility eliminating world starvation, and greater benefit in terms of durability and the increased improvement of crop production. As we all know, food has always been an important essential in our lives and is abundant as well as relatively easy to obtain here in the United States. With the help of molecular genetics, producers are able to produce foods that are rich in nutrients and supplements. Genetically modified organisms can indeed become a valuable aspect to all occupants of the world. Some who disagree might argue that GM foods contain severe allergy risks. Mark Anslow declares that GM foods contain major allergy-like symptoms. “There have also been reports of allergy-like symptoms among Indian labourers in BT cotton fields. In 2002, the only trial ever to involve human beings appeared to show that altered genetic material from GM soybeans not only survives in the human gut, but may even pass its genetic material to bacteria within the digestive system. This situation is becoming incredibly dangerous society. GM food can eventually ease the global food crises. It is without a doubt that changes must be implemented to our food quality, and the process of growing each food. Organic foods are becoming exceedingly over-price due to the immense yield of GM foods. Whether it is reconized throughout society or not, genetically modified foods can even help under privilidged individuals lives with that single stalk of corn. Without GM foods, the world’s current situation will become exceedingly difficult as populations continue to rise and natural resources continue to diminish. Some individuals still continue to obtain an inner drive to abolish the production and distribution of GM foods however, these foods are definately helping the environment and society in the given ways.
