“If we accept that a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill each other? Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, rather, to use violence to get what they want” -- Mother Theresa If the people who have worked on finding a cure for cancer had been aborted, where would the world be at today? Abortion could be the cause of a lot of great people dying before their life even began. How would anyone know if the person was killed before given a chance? Abortion should be illegal in all cases, because no matter what it is a form of murder.

Abortion is the removal of an embryo from a pregnant woman before the end of the pregnancy (Rich. Wagner). About 1.21 million abortions are performed each year which is a fifth of all pregnancies in the United States (Ballaro. Wagner). Since 1973, over 40 million babies have been aborted (Wilson). That is a lot of babies that weren’t even given a chance to live. Eleven percent of abortions happen in the second trimester (Ballaro. Wagner).

Abortion has always been a state law rather than a full governmental one. The Roe v. Wade case began the fight of whether abortion should be legal or not. The Roe v. Wade case made abortion legal affecting 46 states (Chittom). People attempt to argue that the body is the woman’s and therefore she should have the last choice on what happens to her body and health.

In the 1970’s and 1980’s the states attempted to pass laws to lower the abortion rate. These laws included; parent and spouse cons...
