The Cave Monologue

It started as a normal day like any other. It was late afternoon, as waves crashed down on the cold rocky shores of Gadarenes. Mixed in with the fog, evil plotted sinister plans in the darkness of a cave. If you were quiet enough you could here posed men scream out in awful agony in the depths of caves, as they cut themselves, and screamed out terrible blasphemies. As I watched over, my swine, who were eating yellow and green flowers that were frosted over by the nights cold. I could always sense evil lurking in the shadows, watching me, taunting me. I despised this job because of the location. It was the most isolated part of the village where I worked, but my mother had made me take on this job. Because we needed money. Since my father had left, we have been struggling to stay alive.

I feared for my life at work, because, this was the same location of the demon possessed men. People in the small poor town always told stories about these vicious men that know one could subdue them. They were tortured by demons day and night. I believe these stories because I could hear particular screams of agony all day in the distance; in the darkness of caves, but they were exceedingly loud today. One day I might get the courage to check it out, but I would've never thought that day was today.
