Norcal Tremors In fourth grade I was 9 years old. At that age I didn't even think of playing sports. I was just like a normal 9 year old. So one day my auntie told me that one of her friends daughters is playing softball for Port City Girls Softball League. Then asked me if I would be interested to play. I answer saying sure I will try it out, so my auntie went and signed me up. So the way that league works is they have a draft to pick their players for their team. Then, the first practice started, I knew nothing about softball so I was brand new at all of it. Of all sports that I have seen I can say with all confidence I never thought softball would be my sport.When I first thought about playing softball I thought I could never do it. Then as I finally agreed to play softball I was completely petrified. I got on the field and the first thing I did was mess up and I messed up bad. I barely could catch a ball here I was standing there watching everyone play like pros. When I got up to bat I hit the ball but the bat vibrated down and swole up my thumb. I was completely embarrassed and immediately was out cause I was too busy freaking out.
Parkinson disease (PD), also referred to as Parkinson’s disease and paralysis agitans, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that is the third most common neurologic disorder of older adults. It is a debilitating disease affecting motor ability and is characterized by four cardinal symptoms: tremor rigidity, bradykinesia or kinesis (slow movement/no movement), and postural instability. Most people have primary, or idiopathic, disease. A few patients have secondary parkinsonian symptoms from conditions such as brain tumors and certain anti-psychotic drugs.
All throughout high school I played on the softball team. Proceeding the season before where we went undefeated with a district championship, my senior year we were supposed to be unstoppable. We received a few new players to add on to our army and the entire school was counting on our run to state. I was so excited to have an amazing end to my high school softball career, but unfortunately my dream was cut short when we lost in the first round of districts. I did not know that loss would change me the way it did.

Softball has impacted my life tremendously throughout the years. I first started playing softball at a very young age. My dad taught me everything he could about the game. He coached me till I was in the seventh grade. I took his knowledge of the game and tried to teach my other teammates. This earned me a captain spot my junior year. During the game playing outfield, I would hear the crack of the bat send a ball flying in the air and I would chase it down to earn ourselves an out for the inning. In the middle of the tough game, coach put me in to pitch. Walking up to the mound, I grabbed the baseball and felt the seams and smoothness of it, I knew I was ready to pitch. I was six years old when it happened, it was after my very first baseball game. I never played before which made me nervous, but as I stepped foot on the smooth dirt complex field it became second nature. I remember when it was my turn to bat, I felt a slight pinch on my upper right neck, I thought it was just my nervousness, but once I saw the ball coming straight at me, I knew it was too late to back out. When I was 7 years old I was interested in joining a soccer club. Since my school had passed out papers of clubs to join. I decided to go with soccer. I remember going to a park and getting all my things like the soccer ball, knee guards and everything else. This was the start of a very cool experience. I started making new friends that didn’t go to my school. I would go every Tuesday and Thursday for practice. Eventually later on we started to play against other soccer teams. It started off as a season to see who would make it to the tournament. Luckily my team made it and we advanced to the semi-finals. But then I took a hard fall and injured my left ankle which prevented me from playing. But then I attended the next game only to see my team
It was two days before the track meet. The fastest kid on our relay team got hurt and we had a backup in his place. The backup that was put in, was new to middle school track and that eventually would show in the track meet. There was one last practise before the track meet and I wasn't going to be there. This practise was for all the relay runners. It would be the first and only time that the whole relay team would get to run together. I never got to see how the person behind me would handoff but that never affected the team.
