Lady Macbeth is a multifaceted character as she is portrayed deliberately as a person who has a multitude of traits and aspects to her personality that make her unique, complicated and unpredictable. The first angle of Lady Macbeth’s personality shown is her devotion to Macbeth’s ambition. She says, “To have thee crowned withal” meaning that she is willing to give up her innocence to be the catalyst to Macbeth’s aspirations. She scorns her husband’s nature, “It is too full ‘o the milk of human kind” So, she decides to make herself evil, “And fill me, from the crown to the toe, top-full of direst cruelty”.
