Makeup has transformed the lives of so many individuals and continues to play an important role in the daily routines of many women (and those men who choose to wear makeup). [Pause] The main reason why makeup initially became integrated into the daily lives of many individuals was to help conceal facial features that people were insecure about. Now, as of 2018, makeup has helped many people in terms of their general self-confidence. The stereotype that makeup is used to impress others is as far off as one can get. [Pause] For those who don't know what primer is, it is meant to moisturize one's skin and offer a solid base for the makeup to stay on all day. Next, I usually focus on my eyes. A lot of people like to do their eyes last; but, it takes me the longest to complete, so I prefer to do it sooner. I first like to outline and "wing" my eyes with a liquid eyeliner, which is essentially meant to enhance my eyes. I like to use the "Kat Von D Ink Liner" **show the class the eyeliner**. [Pause] I love winging my eyeliner because my eyes are one of my best features. Winging refers to the way that my eyeliner is right now **motions to my eyeliner on my eyelids**. As you can see if you look closely, my eyeliner is very sharp at the ends which lines up with the end of my eyebrow. Enhancing my eyes more makes me feel incredibly confident, and eyeliner is one of the constant products in the majority of makeup routines. Even the ancient Egyptians would line their eyes with coal. [Pause] Makeup has always made me feel so happy and brings me joy, and I don't think it is right to look down on anything that brings anyone joy - unless it is illegal of course. [Pause] The important realization about makeup is that no individual needs it. In my teens, I developed an unhealthy relationship with cosmetics. I viewed makeup as a mask because I had such bad redness on my face. Today, at aged 20, I don't use makeup as a mask, but I definitely like to wear liquid foundation. I usually use "Kat Von D Foundation" **shows foundation to class* because it has really good coverage and works great for sensitive skin like mine. Foundation also gives me that "airbrush" effect and it is genuinely a huge confidence boost. After the foundation, I put concealer under my eyes, which is the "Maybelline Fit Me Concealer" **shows class the concealer**. Concealer is a type of foundation that conceals and gets rid of dark under-eye circles. You all can't see them right now on my face thanks to this lovely concealer but trust me… the circles are there.
